Simplifying Channel Pages Clarification and Inspiration Tab Improvements!

Why are we limited to only one category for placing a video (education, music, etc...). So often, a video neatly fits into two categories. Please change this system to allow the selection of two categories.

Exactly, on my main channel i upload my arts, musics and graphics so it would be great to select music + animation together. Also i don't understand why the algorithm drops my videos into offtopic always, even if the right category selected and right tags i wrote. For example: I create video editing tutorial video, then the algorithm shows at physical goods videos and random indian videos while i'm in Europe/Hungary and i never left this country because of my health issues and i add english and hungarian descriptions only, and i'm talking as hungarian, if i talk (in couple of gameplay videos). So it's nonsense. Another: my music and motion graphic videos showed at cat videos, Marvel videos and traveling location, and even at random indian videos. It's nonsense 2.0. I'm uploading since 2009 to KZbin with CTR 0.2-0.5% avg because of these off-topic suggestions. I'm in serious madness in last 3 years, i unlisted 500+ older videos in last year, without any positive effect, created new channels for each niche, not helped. I didn't give up yet, but i'm close to it because i work for nothing in my entire life, and it's really frustrating, when nobody can see my videos. I already gave up Instagram few months ago after 7 years, because of same alogrithm offtopic thing.

have yall ever thought about adding timestamps to comments? Both for the point in the video the comment is made and also to tell how much of a video a viewer has watched by the time they comment. The former would simply be if the user typed their comment 3min in then you know that is what theyre speaking on. With the latter it would be a measurement of the watch time theyve done on the video so if say a user's comment is at the 5min mark of a 5min video but they skimmed through most of the video their labeled watch time would be a few seconds so others would know this is someone who is commenting without watching the full video. I think it would be helpful in giving context to vague reaction comments particularly on long form video as well as to show how much of a video has actually been watched before someone decided to say something. Its generally annoying and a source of mild misinformation to see people making large sweeping claims on videos and what a creator has said but then in the replies they reveal they didn't watch the whole video. This kind of transparency could better inform a more competent comment section as well as help creators sift and remove spam.

Honestly, I’d like to see toggles for all of the tabs, and a return for the About tab. I understand the recent moves have been to simplify things, and I like them. But user control would be even better. Turn them off by default, sure. But let me turn something back on if I’d like!

There's a fine line between "inspiration" and "plagiarism." I've seen my competitors "inspired" to make clickbait copies of my successful videos. Why not encourage people to come up with their own original ideas? Why is it OK to take others' ideas on KZbin but it would lead to lawsuits in the music industry or any other media? For example, if rock music is popular, encouraging people to create new rock songs makes sense, but if you say "here is a specific great rock song now put your own spin on it" that's bad. It's not original and you can't take people's lyrics and melodies and make them your own. On KZbin people are taking parts of my scripts almost word for word, the concepts for the videos, and almost the exact same titles... it's not a "spin"... it's copying and unoriginal and not fair to the person who originally comes up with the idea.

Thanks for the updates! Simplifying channel pages with not a lot of content is great. Glad you're making the home tab optional instead of just removing it. Can you please pass on a feature I've been requesting for years? When inside a playlist, if we want to add a video to it, the screen gives us a bar to search ALL of youtube for it, or to paste the url. But for our own channel, it only gives us the option to scroll through recently published videos. So it's a hassle if we want to add OLDER videos on the fly, because we either have to scroll through hundreds of videos in backwards order to find the one we want, search all of youtube and hope our title was unique enough to not return a bunch of results from other channels, look up the video on our channel to copy the url so we can paste it in, or look up the video in studio to add it to the playlist directly from the video details. Please change that! We already have a superior interface under customization. When we click to add or change the featured video for returning subscribers, it has TWO search bars. One to search our channel only, and the other to search all of youtube. That's how it should be when adding videos from within a playlist as well.

Just silently rolling out Dynamic Range Compression and enabling it by default is a bad move that affects the audio community here on KZbin. The feature is not the problem, but it should be turned OFF by default. Hopefully this can be fixed quickly.

Random feature request: a way to filter OUT comments from one or more specific videos in the comments tab in YT studio. We have a single viral video that is totally dominating our comment feed, making it nearly impossible to scroll through and find/reply to comments on other videos. I could be wrong but as far as I can tell that isn't possible with the current filter options. (I realize this has nothing to do with this video, but I know you guys read these comments so just in case).

I'm wondering if AI idea and general research stuff on the front end of the process is a great use of company resources when facilitating creative people? I can't think of a time when I've run out of ideas to work on. Editing videos and trying to release more work in general is the challenge. Maybe consider features like allowing creators to upload videos without background music and let us add that "non-destructively" to the videos on KZbin's side. That way we can use audio library work or the other tracks that have limited time licenses without being tied to one song so it makes our work on here more evergreen. Especially true since KZbin has never allowed replacing or swapping video. I feel like KZbin should be on the side of practical solutions and ones that facilitate later steps. Another thing I would like for my much older work is noise reduction similar to how Audacity's plug-in for that (though the problem is sometimes my older stuff has embedded background music). Again, we can't replace existing videos so the older stuff can't be improved without something offered by KZbin on the server side.

Please also do something about comments that randomly disappear, including my own comments on my own channel. Perhaps you could trust me to moderate my own comments section? My channel has been in good standing without any strikes for years. Pretty sure my judgement is better than a humourless bot that doesn't even catch real spam. It's also really frustrating that none of the deleted comments go to my held for review tab for me to check the bot's work, nor is there any ability to appeal its faulty decisions.

How about instead of pouring all these resources into AI (which by its very nature is derivative and incapable of creating something truly unique), you restore useful features like auto-add on playlists, shorts thumbnails, DMs, etc. And hire more staff to MANUALLY review content instead of letting the algorithm decide whether or not something breaks the rules. It took me over a month to get an emote restored after it was taken down minutes after being approved.
