Great game between two great players, but what a shame the crowd can’t show any impartiality and appreciate good squash - cheering tins and out of court shots and silence for precision nicks is pretty embarrassing!

They cheer because their player edged closer to winning. They aren't being cynical as you seem to be suggesting. Like it or not, if you've been watching squash at the Egypt venues for quite some time, this seems to be the culture. People cheer on their favourite player. It's innocent support and has nothing to do with degrading the opponent. In the final between Sherbini and Gohar, the crowd clearly supported Sherbini and showed it by cheering on their favourite player, while giving Gohar the silent treatment. My take would be to change your mindset and just accept that this is the nature of the Egyptian crowd. And be pleasantly surprised if, one day, they decide to show "appreciation" to the opponent.

Kinda obvious in Egypt squash is big the tournament is held in Egypt so the crowd is almost only Egyptians that cheer for there own country

What a ridiculous crowd, such a shame, are they not there to see top quality squash? Please hold the squash elsewhere particularly for the worlds in future.
