This song is about his mother, who abandoned him and his father when he was very young. He always dreamed she would come back. She never did.

Simply Red...... Simply brilliant. One of the best live act I've ever seen. Only really known in the States for a couple of ballads, but has some great up tempo hits too. I'd highly recommend " The Right Thing" and "Moneys Too Tight To Mention " live at Montreux , "Come To My Aid/I won't feel bad" I think that's live in Hamburg, And "Sunrise" live in Sydney to see what he sounds like now some nearly 40 years later. (I'll try to add links). Fantastic in a studio, but another level when performing live (and all wayyyy before auto-tune was invented!).

For an upbeat hit by SR, check out Money's Too Tight to Mention or a great ballad, their cover of the classic If You Don't Know Me by Now .

I see you’re an 11:11 adherent. Yes? I know it means different things to different people. I’ve seen it multiple times for a week for ten years since my Dad passed. People may think I seek it out, but I don’t. I use it to remind myself to talk to my dad.
