Thanks Angelo, “enjoy the soup”, that really helped. It only took me 3 months to get through the worst of the shadow work. Basically stayed home and focused on getting it done. Sitting for hours and watching videos and reading. I had tons of trauma. Don’t get caught up in the mind, stay in the body. Accept what comes your way and deal with it now. The relief on the other side is not what I expected at all, literally like waking up from a nightmare. thank you. Rest in the not knowing, don’t get caught in the traps, like spirituality or religion.

Thank you so much Angelo. This "message" you carry hits at the heart on a deep intuitive level that is constantly crying out for relief and release for me. I am now 69 years old or so my birth certificate says lol and I recently cared for my precious mother for the past 4 years in her dementia. I love her deeply and she is now in the dying stages. I learned about the phrase "walking grief" from a support group for caregivers I'm active in. I have suffered much and was traumatized by a critical father as a very young child. There are levels of suffering that can actually "burn off" ego or body/mind identification don't you think? I no longer fear death because life is always now. Sensation is always now. Therefore now is all there is. Being born is itself a traumatic event yes? I got stuck looking at "My Trauma" and could not move forward to live until I let the past go. Which of course there's no past no future except as concepts. I have learned so much in so little time from you. Ever since reading the Power of Now I have hungered for awakening. You are helping me see my error in that. What I seek already is.

Thank you Angelo for pointing me to the Emotion and Shadow playlist/s to help around physical pain. I don't know if I am emotionally blocked or just don't have many emotions. The thoughts came that the pain may be a way to a deeper exploration and experience of the shadow/emotion? I will check out the playlist/s. Thanks again!

a nerdy aside... it is possible to talk formally about causality without time or space. one example is implication in (constructive) logic, which maps onto functional programming disciplines as well: perfectly possible to have causalilty (all computation has to create outputs from inputs) without space or time.

Could you elaborate on how the trauma shows up on your face and shows up on other people’s faces? That is EXACTLY what I have experienced, and it’s confused me and made me quite self conscious during this raw “frozen emotional soup” period. How should it be approached, and what should be done about it? It’s been very difficult trying to reintegrate back into society.

Appreciate you so much for conceptually engaging with the stickiness of the shadow in order to offer reassuring guideposts to your listeners. For me, no stories suffice anymore: not the story of relationships, not the story of the self, not the story of suffering or the story of transcending suffering, not even the story of non-duality (recently saw this story as something of an "out" for the ego, as well). I wonder if you could make a video about the tendency to dissociate from one's karmic output, for lack of a better description, in someone who has had a first awakening. I have been on both ends of this tendency (meaning that I have adopted it and have also been on the receiving end of someone who has adopted it). I recently saw its fallacy when I began engaging in real shadow work. The effect of seeing that fallacy is that I now have an eff-it attitude to the whole spiritual-seeking culture - like, WTF is the point of it if it just makes you an asshole? Does awakening really have the effect of reducing suffering in the realm shared by organisms? I am not just talking about whether a non-awakened person chooses to be offended by an awakened person's actions. I mean real bypassing, where a newly "enlightened" person completely disregards the wide-ranging effects of their actions. It seems to me that it matters what we do in the shared realm of organisms, because here we are. If you could make sense of any of this, I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you!

Oh my gosh! I just checked out the emotions and shadow work playlist. I've already watched them all. Hehe! Apparently I didn't connect it to physical pain. Will watch again from this point of view.

5:30 people have described me that way and I tend to agree. It’s extremely difficult to get out of my head and just feel? My whole life has been centered around gathering information and creating concepts to better understand things. Hard to just feel

Hey Angelo, here´s a conceptual question: People who are missing a sensegate, for example deaf people, may suggest the assumption, that hearing is a feature of the body merely. I can´t find evidence in the sound for that, neither can I find a hearer in sound, but since some people cannot hear (or maybe they do hear silence lol?), I´m tempted to attribute the ability to hear to the ear, instead of sound being self aware. I know that this is all conceptual and thought based, but I´m interested in your response anyway.

When you realize the true import of “no eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind, no color, sound, smell, taste, touch, or what the mind takes hold of, nor even act of sensing” then you’ll know what is heard whether there is hearing faculty or not, whether the body is alive or dead, whether there is a body or no body, whether there is matter in the universe or no matter at all. Before that you’ll just be rearranging thoughts.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say you won’t find that here. That’s the opposite direction. The limited mind can’t understand this. It’s a grasping that’s endless and will only compound the suffering. This is unknowable and already the case so it’s a letting go of knowing and just being in what already is. TLDR: nothing here will satiate the insatiable mind that wants to know. It’s about letting go of all your wanting to know and analysis

As a concept addict and over analyzer, I found A Course In Miracles to be profoundly helpful. It highlights the ego thought system so it can be see for what it is, while holding your hand along a year long process of deconstructing and unwinding your mind from ego identity to eventually drop all concepts and step into the now with wholly empty hands. It's a remarkable transmission.

On a side note, you will probably see this message more than once. So on your last long q and a video " come one come all" , you mentioned the Patreon and how one could get access to all the online retreats. I have some questions about this. 1. I go to Patreon and I can't find your account. I searched Simply always awake, non dual, Angelo Dilullo etc. Not a dang thing. 2. I see there are some Patreon only videos but the playlist doesn't seem to be the whole retreat. They are just parts of them. Would we need to put the retreat schedule back together again in order to do them as a whole? I was hoping that the actual Patreon account, the one I can't find, would be at least all the videos related to one retreat in a folder or playlist. Thank you for your time. Scott

Just my personal experience. It helps a lot to do Meta and Gratitude practices while doing the Trauma. It just seems to take the edge off. If it gets a little rough, I take a little time off and do the Meta and Gratitude for a while. This is, of course, n=1 so maybe it would be different for others. But it is probably worth a try.

Is inquiry to be used just until the first shift/awakening and then focus on the sense gates? Years ago I had some shifts, I was feel more free for a few months, but then it went for the most part contracted and struggle. I'm not sure about anything. But can i keep with inquiry along with sense gates or is not more useful? Merry Christmas! Thanks for all!

Thank you Angelo. In answering my question about physics/science you pinpointed that there is only the experience we are having right now, which is obviously correct. There is no past or future which can be experienced. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to try to pin you down to something which is the crux of my question. My experience NOW can be predicted by what happened in the past, i.e. For example, say, I had a whiskey 5 minutes ago and now I feel warm and fuzzy. I had a thought about wanting to feel warm and fuzzy 5 minutes ago which made me want a whiskey. This cause and effect relationship can't really be argued as I have a memory of it happening. From what I can understand, all of the above paragraph cannot be true as it relies on my thoughts; however it still happened like that in my mind's recollection. Therefore if what you say is true , it could only be a figment of my mind's imagination, and any 'people' that agree with my scenario ,because they saw it occur , are also in my mind's imagination. I agree I don't have any evidence to disprove this , but I would say this would be a convenient method to solve suffering, maybe by pretending it's all a trick of the mind!! How can someone like me make progress.

You are able to stabilize a reserve force few seconds it sounds like before the thoughts drag you away to far away places. Keep at it and things will clarify. You’re gonna have to go through some existential fear, that I am sure of.

Hey there Angelo ! I just have a question regarding the deepest stages of realisation especially concerning the visual field. So "I" am at a state where everything feels quite perfect and natural and most of the things and events in life are really being done by themselves and I'm just the witness and mostly feel bliss all the time. And I take time to explore more deeply the visual field. So in my experience it's not really that the things appear flat but more flowing like waves, very alive or collapsing and after a few seconds the contours is very luminous. Then I also try experiencing with my reflection in the mirror and at first it's the same my form is moving like oceanic waves and then becomes luminous but lately when letting my vision stay on the reflection of my face, it kind of switches with other faces, like if I was a lot of other people, other eyes, nose, expression. So I "know" and feel like I am all and one with the universe and it feels so intense and amazing. So my question will be do or did you experience something similar because I never really heard you talk about what we could see looking at mirrors. Hope you can answer in a Q and A at some point. Cheers and love

Do you have a video or something about why awakening and shadow work works so differently for everybody and why some have better access to it than others? Like for me, I had kundalini awakening and therefore stream entry after like half a year of 1:1 shadow work. Before, I just did meditation for 30min/day, barely knowing what to look for, about 1,5 year of practice. With shadow work, I also had very fast progress. My childhood was very traumatic and had big social problems, addiction and stuff like that Edit: And there you speak about it 😂

Quick question about "the end of suffering". Do you still see lots of awful things happening, but you don't get attached to your interpretation of them? Or do things get "actually" better? I strongly tend to read too much into vague phrases, and love fictional stories of heros and superpowers. So, if you will, please crush my childish fantasies. I know that literally anything can happen; I know "this" isn't limited. I've known for a while now, but I keep turning that into a fantasy of things magically working out for everyone's benefit, and it remains a fantasy. Can you help me let go?

Idk man, I'll probably keep going to uni and to work. But you ask "how" so... mostly with my feet I guess? In 80 years at most it's most likely gonna be over, so at least that's something to look forward to when it comes to my current physical form

Why do prominent people "believe" in reincarnation? What is there to reincarnate? Sadhguru for example talks about how he was on earth about 3 times and this is his last time. Also thank you for replying to my comment :)
