From the book "I Am That": "Be aware of being conscious and seek the source of consciousness. That is all. Very little can be conveyed in words. It is the doing as I tell you that will bring light, not my telling you." That makes intuitive sense to me, but sometimes I think I'm kidding myself and it's all a head trip.

You remember this drawing of an old lady, but if you see it differently, she is a beautiful young lady, and vice versa. If you see the one, you can't see the other for a while. But sometimes, you see them both at the same time, like seeing a paradox in its whole. The Ying-Yang symbol too, or even the batman symbol. OK. It is difficult to explain this awakening. Like, it is difficult to teach to swim by just talking. Until a person gets it himself. So you have to try without trying. That's funny. But It is like cutting out the middleman, which is the logical mind and surrender to the uncertainty of life. Normally, life is scary, without control or being prepared by experience and tricks to master the outside world and survive. So evolution gave us this tool. If we lived in a world without peril, it would be easier to let go. Like a baby, he isn't aware of the danger. Very trusting of his environment, which is love/his mama. Ok, imagine people can't move. Like a tree, they don't have an urge to do something or to go toward food or better places. They just wait what happens. Anyway, yes I know this is philosophy, just standing in the way of the way. Whatever. I am a very visual person, so I can see proportions, lines, don't get confused by moving targets, so seeing was for me an entry point. It is without need of words. Also gesturing and movements of my hands. It felt like holy movements. So I have a feel for all the Zen art, gardens, martial arts and so on. Naturally. Sorry I am rambling, it is simply impossible to explain an awakening state in words. But I learned a lot here. Also: transmission just by looking into the eyes of two enlawoken people, they talk with their eyes, and thought waves/aura. I always wanted to talk to another without speaking. That feels so good. And impossible to lye. But there is no shame, so it doesn't matter. Nobody to blame. So one has to trust, nothing bad happens if you let go of your defense and protection mechanism, which is the brain. Hope some of my words ring a bell. Please don't say: those are all concepts. DON'T DO THAT!. Well, I do what I want. I think for myself. Automatically now forms the opposite thought in my brain: "Try to be meek, try not to be so arrogant." The brain works like that. I was obsessed with cleanliness, is attracted and turn on by dirtiness. How weird. But all a discovery, how the brain really is working all the time, thought-contr-thoughts, looking for a solution, creating more complex answers and questions..

Hi Angelo. I find that if I sit in the early hours of the morning that often I will begin to slide into dreamlike states while still conscious. I try to use these times for self enquiry or just observing how my sense of self and the dream imagery co arise and morph and change. I also enjoy occasional lucid dreams. I recall you mentioned in a previous video that the times around falling asleep are ripe for practicing meditation / Self Inquiry. Id love to hear more from you on this subject. Thanks for all your amazing videos and clear pointing!

Awaking is non conceptual. Some form of practice is needed, don't conceptualize, move your attention into being what is the sense of being you and stay there. Self inquiry, Who am I, Sohum or Ham sa. Doubt is just a thought, It's not working for me.. you can really believe this thought as if it is you, before awakening. It is just one thought. Use your resources, the Ego is in ancient collective. it knows your weakness!!! A retreat can help to open you, or a one on one teacher to find what you are avoiding, if you feel stuck. I love this awaken to your senses, sight, sound, smell, taste and imagine something i.e. a strawberry .....until you become your senses.

Brellient talk Angelo! Thanks a lot! Doubt is my biggest issue of all! Most of my doubt come from the fact that I know that collective ego is so strong and smart.. doubt often come up when I wonder if my insight comes from true nature or the collective ego. I then become indecision to which one to pursue. So I found doubt and the last point you mentioned in conflict. Also I so love your background music.. what genre of music are these background music? I appreciate if you share so I look for them in Soundcloud. Thanks a lot Angelo! God bless 🙏🏻💜🙏🏻

When you say that it's already here, is this personal experience? What I mean to say is, when you think back to a time before realization, do you remember that you already had it but couldn't see it? When you saw it, did you say "oh, that? I always saw that but ignored it. It seemed insignificant. " If that is the case then it should be super easy to point directly at it. It reminds me of back in the 90s when I went into a mall and everyone was staring at those magic illusion posters that had hidden images. I stood staring for like 20 minutes several days in a row. One day, a person walked by and saw me. They said "You can't look at it and see it directly. You have to look through it." That was all it took, that direct pointing! This feels like that but infinitely more abstract.

I had a thought for those who can’t afford to go on an in-person retreat (like me Lol). If there exists (or I can try to make one) a PDF or some sort of DIY retreat instructions, just for us newbies who need guidance. I’m not suggesting that you create that, lol, but it would be nice if one existed. I would definitely follow along to give myself a weekend retreat… I’m sure I’m over thinking it! Maybe this is something I should explore 🤔

I have the suspicion that accepting that consciousness somehow chooses when doubt arises takes away some of the sense of it, seeming like there are two sides at war. That would mean something was more powerful than consciousness itself, but there is nothing other than consciousness. At one point in my life, that felt like a horrible torture, but through these teachings and other influences, doubt has become just another experience, just another appearance that is never what it looks like or sounds like, but it’s definitely occurring.

Hi Angelo, Eckhart changed my life 5 years ago by leading me to presence. Once I realized thinking was happening to me, everything changed almost immediately. After 5 years, I am very much at peace. I don’t identify with my thoughts and the me is almost completely gone. However, I find that it’s constant work, watching the thought and bringing myself back to presence. Usually I get back to presence by looking at nature or focusing on my breath. Recently, something inside keeps telling me to push forward. That there is something else. It isn’t really a thought but more of an intuition. I heard you reference a deeper state than presence. Is the state you feel constant? Or are you continually bringing your mind back to presence?

I feel terrible I feel how tricky my thought is but I can't escape it and it's constant. Why do you have so many articulated concepts and thoughts if those aren't real and what is knowledge if none of my own interpreted experience is "true." The habit of labeling my experience literally constantly is painful and the moments of clarity in practice have residual feelings that I'm separated and the there is a journey to undertake, which is a belief. I feel like a fish in a pond and everything I do is hopeless because even taking hope is conceptual. and being hopeless is just a feeling. and when i feel release there's just a voice that comes in and ruins everything. and even if my heart is constantly reactive and my whole ego is just insufferable theres something unwilling to relinquish its grip. and i'm soo reactive in my day to day life as soon as another person or text message enters into my reality I have completely departed into some other kind of consciousness. and i'm never in a moment im nvr at ease and my thought streams are so deft and constant and flowing and intelligent its the only thing i even have to feel ok. to feel ok im lost in thought, or in some experience that gives zero opportunity for self-referntiality. this whole process is so painful and my ego doesn't even think theres anything left for me in the "VR" world. because i'm always on a goose chase and im never arrived, whereas the chases are inspired by observing people and ideology that patently give people happiness. in this state its hard to not see awakening as an answer, a cure, and a destination, because it is where i need to go.
