About my videos: These videos are a resource for anyone wishing to wake up from the dream of separation. Awakening, enlightenment, and liberation are becoming far more mainstream possibilities than they once were. There are many good teachers out there, and if you resonate with the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Rupert Spira, or Sadhguru, you might find resources here that address these deeper promptings to investigate your true nature.

This helped me tap into "it". I practiced switching between subject and object with diligence for a moment, and after managing to do it pretty consistently I tried percieving both. At that moment, something began opening up, and gradually and pretty fast, an INMENSE wave of energy came through. Felt like an enormous rush of terror and awe mixed together, as if I was in a roller coaster? But much more real, very intense... almost felt like I'd be entirely swallowed up, as if I'd die. I need more. Thank you Angelo.

So glad you have done a video about this Angelo because this is something I have been practicing. I wasn’t sure what it was because the mind was trying to come in with stories. I can now lay in bed and feel the bed and the body has one, no separation, no boundaries. I have tried it at the gym too, on the machines, practicing subject objects and then no boundaries with body and machine. Tried it with people walking past too, trees, birds, cars ect…. ❤x

Not that I couldn’t do this visually, but I was in a pretty dark room - I found it very clear and almost more tangible,literally and figuratively, to grab my blankets in my hand and do it with tactile sensation. Just another thing to play with.

I found that I can "connect" better with a beautiful tree outside my window, but not with a pair of shoes on the floor, I have always found better connction in nature, ( preferably a place with out people or outside noise!!) maybe nature is a bridge between worlds because it is natural and effortless and just feels like creation?? blah blah, gratitude and love to Angelo and everyone out there

Thanks Angelo, so so much for this clarity in this simple and very effective method, and the way you communicate it. You are definately the clearest teacher and guide around this type of exploration , and are helping myself and quite a few friends right now. As well as exploring ''seeing' or 'Hearing' I also often play around with and explore the mind stuff too. Even with eyes open or closed. What I find , is that the relationship within the mental construct too, shows up as subject object. i.e. even if its a thought story bubble that arises there is still a sense, or even seemingly a movement within mind, that supposedly suggests ( and almost forces/ needs a me to believes it) a position of a me here and the other there, (imagined person, emotion, story etc). This type of clear 'looking' experiential enquiry, not conceptual, can help me to realise, or at least question deeply what is really going on. Its so obvious (and funny, ridiculous) that this believed separation cant really be true, as its obvious that its all happening within the same consciousness. ie. my head/mind space. So how can it really be true that there's a me in my mind relating to an other in my mind , and worse even have me believing its a real truth about what's going on. This can really shake it all up. Then sometimes I can re look through visual field or other body sense fields and that seems to loosen up, further, the belief there is/or must be separation there too.

I appreciate this description. I found that I got to the point of both subject and object being “connected”- then when looking for this connection it dissolved. But there still felt to be an ability to shift attention/focus between the sensation of me and the object. I would be grateful for more guidance

I’m just at 18:23 and laughing so hard because when I focus on self and then object, nothing moves. It’s hilarious. It’s obviously just a thought. Yet I wallow in duality. And as I sit on the sofa with my legs crossed, I had to look to see if my foot and calf are still there.😮 That happens a lot now: not knowing if body parts are there if I can’t see them. Years ago after working on “What am I?” for a few months in the forest, I stood up with a cup of tea, and there was no me, no tea, no sipping, no swallowing. Everything just flowed effortlessly, silently. it only lasted several moments.

Thank you so much Angelo for your very clear, practical and helpful teachings. “I” have been living in non-duality for a few years now, but this exercise was nice in that it showed me more context and depth of this “state”. I really have been appreciating your teachings of no-self because that is starting to occur here. Adyashanti has been my root teacher for over 10 years and I just found out about you a few months after he retired. He doesn't go into much depth of no-self, so I really, really appreciate you diving into this topic; eventhough, I know it's a very difficult subject to talk about and point to. Thank you for your contribution and insight, it's really helping clarify experience here. Namaste, Joel

The notes about taking it slow when moving between subject and object and smoothly moving between them (while doing all that in experience, not thought) and also using the words self and other, clarified this further. It seems a lot simpler to practice and follow along when the terminology is distilled away to the minimum, so that was very helpful. When percieving self and other at once in the vision, the touch senses open up for me. I wonder if it’s a barrier or part of the process as I continue to work on dissolution of self? Thank you, this is very helpful.

Thank you Angelo for everything❤. I didn't get a reply for one of my email. So saying here. Yeah, so in previous conversations I asked mainly that "if my mind convinces me to hurt myself in some way; then I should watch it, the doer, the thought, the sensations and not hurt myself. But the same mind if it convinces me to be loving to all, be compassionate, then I should listen to it. I should say loving things. IN BOTH CASES, DO I CHOOSE? Do I choose not to hurt myself? Do I choose to be loving? If there is no choosing and freewill, then what is action here, who is doing the action of not hurting or hurting; or loving or not loving?

Yep. I've found it a helpful deconstruction to notice that body sensations (head, eye area, et al) are not perceiving visual sensations. Likewise for other pairs of sensations: the sensations of the head are not thinking the thoughts. The visual image of the hand is not taking in the texture of the table. Credit to Daniel Ingram for planting the seed: one sensation does not perceive another sensation.

Are there any boundaries/gaps between the experience of body sensations and what is visually seen? It might be valuable to try to find the “space” between those two experiences. You can also look for a gap in the experience of sounds and body sensations, perhaps with your eyes closed. This might be easier than the visual field. When you look closely, you might find that everything is happening simultaneously without any boundaries. This exploration has been very valuable for me, and if you can get past the mind, it becomes very pleasurable to sit in this space.

In experince, it is always impossible to find subject it almost felt like only the object was being attended, yet there is distance. Whereas, with hearing/sound, sound is all, with some bodily sensations if attended like lightness, sometomes sounds like a far far aeroplane or women talking on roads would feel in my body with a ticklish sensation in the body. Vision feild is harded to delve in somehow, but this is a good exercise to start with. Thanks Angelo, you happen to always talk about things that im stuck on, like the talk is tailor made for me lol💛

Object is one experience, subject is another, but there is a very quick shift between the two and a thought made connection. There is no subject viewing object, there is just two experiences happening at different times, one is subject, other is object.

Thank you very much for your video's, hey are always very helpfull. If i experience the chosen object becomes sort of one object/subject or some kind of thing/sensation that seems to be one thing... but still a sort of awareness of field or still some thing that interconnects things .. but then if i become aware of that new object subject playfield .. it sort of goes away.. or falls apart..and then there seems to be nothing.. and i feel like relaxed and sort of afraid at the same time.. and then there is a strong pull and a lot of doubt.. and then i am back with first subject object practise.. and it starts all over again.. and so it kind of loops but then the looping becomes the object and then it also seems to push me back to the first object/subject.. and i am sorry that i cannot explain it in a simple way but it seems like i am creating multiple dimensions with this practice and they all end in a place of no place.. and then i get thrown back
@JeremyRafael333
@JeremyRafael333 3 ай бұрын
Even the throwing back is part of the place that is no place loop that seems to try to throw me back.. like it is all just nothing .. exept if i start thinking.. but if i do not think.. it is just nothing.. it is just what it is .. sort of nothing .. and also nothing to do.. but it just seems that i cannot stop following thoughts that seemingly create the subject objects.. like i am a donkey following a carrot on a stick but cannot prevent my thoughts from creating the donkey and the stick

I'm trying to remember to do the subject/object exercise when I can. It seems like I can focus on both simultaneously, but I wonder if I'm just telling myself that. When I go back and forth, my sense is of a subject that is more felt with other senses (proprioception and touch) rather then when I see the object, the experience is wholely visual. So in that sense they are hard to equate with one another. I have a sense that simply switching between the two will eventually yield some insight, but at least initially they seem quite distinct.
