We just got the Seed is Sleepy book from the library! There are several in the series by Diana Hutts Aston that are wonderful.. including: A Butterfly is Patient. Thank you for all your videos! They are really edifying. God bless always!

Thank you for your recommendations. I just ordered some of these that I didn't already own to place in my lending library for many families to enjoy! I love the three points at the start: Wonder, Observation, and Personal Experience.

I met you both recently at convention in Rogers. Two amazing people! Thank you again for your time and thoughts for me on that day as well as all of these wonderful videos and resources that I hold dear as we start our homeschool.

You can still get Crocodile Safari on the scholastic teacher store if you call them and register as a homeschool.

As lovely and beautiful as these books are, they're all about landscapes that we don't live in! What books do you have about the SW United States? Where are the desert books? The books about mountains and mesas? New Mexico has limited ponds and streams.
@SimplyCharlotteMason3 жыл бұрын
One of our favorite books about deserts is A Desert Scrapbook: Dawn to Dusk in the Sonran Desert by Virginia Write-Frierson. If you have any favorite resources, we'd love to hear about them as we are always on the lookout for great living books. We have a large list of books that cover a variety of science topics here: simplycharlottemason.com/planning/curriculum-guide/individual-graded-subjects/living-science-books/

Great video, I find young children are fascinated by small details in nature. Beware those adults who expect a brisk pace on a woodland walk. I have ordered the starfish book which looks excellent. I would have got the crow book but I am in the UK so the birds will be different, it looks great though!

There are so many beautiful picture books. I don’t see why an older child can’t use these too because I love them and usually learn something too.

This was lovely! So calming and inspiring. What science guide would you recommend for starting science study? I have a 3rd and a 2nd grader (as well as 3yo and 1yo). Is the new guide too overwhelming?

I wish this would have gotten answered. I have the same question.
@SimplyCharlotteMason11 ай бұрын
I apologize for the delayed response to this question. There is a list of living science courses here. simplycharlottemason.com/store/living-science-courses/ You will see a grade level recommendation following the title which indicates the targeted age level for that study. Feel free to start with any study that you think would interest your family.
