$850 per weekend seems crazy to me for this type of event, I do mostly Anime Shows but I'm doing my first Sugi Saturday coming up in October which I thought was expensive for the table I have a new appreciation for their pricing now. Thanks for your video, I think I'm going to avoid 626 for now even tho I'm local, charging that much for a table makes me feel a certain way toward the showrunners, especially considering the mid-looking turnout.

Thanks for your input! 626 is definitely on the pricier side for events, especially now that they don't provide a canopy. It used to be worth it in past years but it's hard to tell how next year will fare based on this year's outcome.

This unfortunately feels like a trend right now with how much people are able to spend at events. I've personally noticed a pretty big drop in how much people spend and have been questioned on my lowest price point product ($3) saying it was too expensive. I'm not super sure what's going on, but the drop is definitely happening on the east coast as well right now too :( That being said, this is another awesome video sharing the artist experience! Thank you for sharing!

I've noticed the same! Watching other artist event vlogs it seems like lots of us are experiencing a dip in event attendance and sales.

Thank you for your insight! I'm starting to see the same thing happen at night market events. So far it hasn't translated the same way for me at anime cons, but I'm wondering if it will start to happen soon as the months go on

I've done cons for about 5 years not including the COVID years and some of us have been calling the past two years "the COVID buff". Like...it's pretty crazy for some of us to see our 2018 numbers against 2022. It is highly possible the last two years are anomalies caused by 3 years of people's first cons being delayed. A lot of people go to an anime convention once or twice and decide they don't like it and never come back again. Also people who went to cons regularly are just so happy to be back they're very eager to spend money. The accessibility of credit cards I also think plays a big role, back then if someone ran out of money they're done and just leave. There's other factors like the type of items that are more popular to both buy/make, more artists being willing to vend at (imo) more risky events and so forth I can get into...but all in all I think we will probably see more modest profits in future years, personal improvement not withstanding. I was predicting a much more severe decrease, but it was like a wittle dip so I'm pretty happy this could be a continuing trend. But I suspect it will never be as good as 2022 again. Again, not accounting personal development.

Whats been going on is Inflation, it’s out of control and many people have less money to spend. I don’t like vending at food events because food prices are so high and I don’t want to compete with them.

It baffles my mind every time you mention that the booth fee for each event is $800+ 😭 Hopefully attendance and sales pick up next year! It was so great to finally meet you at 626 OC, let me know if you ever venture out to the east coast for events :))))))))

I’m glad to hear that you had a good time and will continue vending at 626 regardless of sales! Could you possibly make a video on tips specifically for large anime cons? Hearing your “should you vend at 626” made me wonder things i should consider for large anime cons! Plus getting tips on specific invertory, applying, etc.! I love your vlogs sm 💜

Coming from So Cal I’ve seen an influx of night markets and events of the sort. I use to always plan around foodieland and the sort but now a days many people and I just can’t justify the trip to these places. The food quality sometimes is bad and the lines made me stay away. Like even now seeing the lines being short. I still find myself just not thinking it’s worth it anymore

I totally agree. I think there's so many events now, and with the state of the economy, people have to be very thoughtful as to which ones they want to attend.

I think it’s the over priced food that discourages people to come to those events. At least as an attendee that’s my pov on these night market events.

Personally, I found 626 market to be a mess….especially over time. The first was decent, the second was great, and it’s been downhill since. As a local, I never go to 626 anymore bc it doesn’t feel worth it anymore.
