having a table at an artist alley is literally on my bucket list, even if i can just do it once and don't make any profits i'd be so happy to be able to materialize my art and see people who are interested in it! thank you for this video, it's really cool to see the behind the scenes as a cosplayer who doesn't get to see that side :) your bags are so cute!

The thought of selling at an artist alley lingers on my mind. But I'm super nervous and don't even know how to start 😭
@Mualcaina2 жыл бұрын
It's definitely intimidating at first, I'd suggest trying out local events first to get the hang of it. My first ever event was Anime LA (not recommended to start at a big con unless you have some customer service experience and/or enough product to fill a 6ft table in my opinion). If you have other artist friends, you can also look into sharing a table so you each have 3ft of space and you're not alone!

On sales and inventory, have you tried using a POS app? Upside is that it'll automatically record all your sales, act as your calculator and even tell you how much to give as change, and track inventory. Downside, it's likely a battery drain.

I also work a lot of conventions I tattoo while simultaneously selling my prints it can be a bit overwhelming having an extra hand or two makes a big difference. Cool set up and merchandise!

the fact that you guys have the bags there too is so cool!

Yes!! Loved seeing people's reactions to the bags and even seeing some people already using it with their pins 🙌🏼

As someone who seems to attend conventions regularly, do you have a checklist of everything that you bring? I'd really like to use it as a template if that's okay. I tend to forget things as it is and if I ever get to the point of being able to go to conventions, I’d like to have a really detailed and planned out guide of whatever it is I would need. Thank You!

Love your vlogs! I have my first table with a friend in octobre and your videos are super informative lol just seeing you interact with people and the notes you add help me understand the dynamic a little better!
@Mualcaina2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful! I feel it'd be easier to know how to interact with customers at artist alley if there was some footage, which I didn't see too many when looking for other vlogs. Best of luck with your tabling!

Question? What about reserving hotel room as an Artist? Is that something the con will reserve rooms for artist? Or do you have to check in prior through the hotel? For example, if its a lottery artist alley, do I have to book the hotel and then wait and see if I need to cancel if I don't get excepted? Thank you!

i wish conventions were this big in australia but then again i would have a panic attack and theres not many big convention venues in australia that can house so many people, the last convention i went to was SUPER packed even tho the convention hall was massive the amount of people there were INSANE

@@Mualcaina Thank you! I'd like to ask, what would be a good start Starting out online first or vending?
@Mualcaina Жыл бұрын
@@Chocokaylarobin It depends on what is more accessible for you, you can't go wrong with either. I started out selling online only bc I began my business in 2020
@Chocokaylarobin Жыл бұрын
@@Mualcaina Thank you for your input! for me online is so big I wouldn't know where to start vending seems a lot more straight forward but I'm afraid I'd run into the issue of "If i can't get it here do you have a store online" 😮😮 Would you recommend a store i can start off with? Like a Shopify or Etsy? Sorry for all the questions lol! Trying to start simple 😊.

Love your booths aesthetic! Are your pin displays zip tied onto the cube grids?
@Mualcaina2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I used to use disposable zip ties since it's what came with my grid cubes but have switched to reusable velcro zip ties!

You were AX I have been watching you from your first con until now. You’re amazing I wore your pins to a con in May and I kept getting stopped. The Gojo one caught people eye quick. By the way AX would hate me because I would have a plug in with air freshener. I don’t understand how hard it is to wash your body.

I'm so glad! Thank you for your support 🥺 And yes, the minimum requirement is a daily body shower, but it was pretty humid which didn't help 😩

I went this year as a cosplayer but I’m also an artist, did you feel like you had enough time to walk around the con? Love this vid and missing anime expo still lol
@Mualcaina Жыл бұрын
I feel as if I had a decent amount of time to go to the panels I wanted and explore the con, only because I had 2 helpers with me, so they'd work the booth while I walked around. We were pretty swamped the whole weekend that it would've been overwhelming if there was only one person managing the booth.

Anybody has any idea what are the rules for fanart at anime expo?
@Mualcaina Жыл бұрын
If you're in artist alley, fanart is allowed as long as you drew it and are not using official titles/names/logos (use "pirate anime" instead of "one piece"). Fanart is typically not recommended for exhibitor hall bc studio IP lawyers like to give notices
