December means tamales to me... Last year, I ate four dozen Between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. I regret nothing.

This is how I learned to make tamales from my mother in law. They are from Oaxaca and their mole is legendary and their mole tamales are amazing! Thank you for this 😋😋

The best tamales I’ve ever had were from a friends mom who was from Oaxaca. She also used the banana leaves. I normally don’t like tamales but those ones were soooo good.

Yeeeesssss! I love Guatamalen tamales. They are so good. 🙌
@OrganicAlumination Жыл бұрын
I'm glad the banana leaves come in a bundle but I literally put corn husk back to get them and I'm heavy handed 😅 everytime I fold the bottom it breaks on the side and my maza mix I made almost too wet like when I add the chicken with the salsa Verde the salsa cuts the maza again like I should have left it crumply before adding the chicken.... Still very fun 😅 I rinsed them off with cold water ! That's what it was

Some of the best tamales I ever had was when I lived in Jalisco Mexico. This guy would pass by on his bike and sell the green leave tamales. Always so soft and flavorful. When I lived in Guanajuato, I swear, the worlds worse tamales! Dry, no flavor, little filling. Yours look great! I love lard☺️

I use to get some chicken tamales from a older Mexican lady back home who would sell a big bag for 10 dollars, I love those, she would put corn in with the chicken, never had them like this, going to have to try them

I lobe that this is a recipe for a small batch of tamales! All the recipes I’ve seen make tons of tamales. I’ve always wanted to try to make tamales on my own but a small batch. This is perfect!

It tastes even better if u cook the masa first . Plus I find if I use the leaves lengthwise so the strips are from one end to the other they don't rip so easily when folding up

@nostradamus48282 жыл бұрын
I have never tried using banana leafs before. I have always used corn husks that were soaked. The problem I always have is that corn husks are always in terrible shapes and sizes.Also I hate trying to place them standing up in a pot. The way you do it laying then flat seem to me so much easier to do . Thank you for making this easy to understand video... SergeantC (Retired US Army 🪖)
