How To Mount Hi-Hat Cymbals On A Stand-Setting Up A Drumset

In this video, I show you how to mount hi-hat cymbals on a stand. This is an essential part of setting up a drum set, and I believe that every drummer should know how to do it.
Mounting a crash, splash, or ride cymbal onto a stand is very basic, but mounting a pair of hi-hats is a bit more complex. In this video, I show you how to do it with ease!

Mhhhhhh, not metal on metal? YES, that's right. But your stupid explorer doesn't took a tape (gaffer-tape, a rubber or someting similar) between the top-cymbal and the clutch (screw). So, when using the hit-hat, you scratch the top-cymbal when playing like using a rough file!... Every time when you give pressure in the clutch, it's like rasp or rubbing the hole of the cymbal-bell in an ugly way. Problem is: the damage of the TOP-cymbal, when really working with them. Make a new clip, than you help drummers.

Might be a stupid question, but is a "cymbal sleeve" necessary for the top cymbal? I see you have one for the bottom cymbal (the little piece of plastic the runs up the hi hat stand just slightly so there's no "metal on metal"), but nothing for the top cymbal, besides it just being cushioned between two pieces of felt. My hi hat stand is set up exactly the same. Would you recommend a cymbal sleeve for the top cymbal, if they even make them?

this us a helpful tutorial, but i have a question, is the felt necessary or will the cymbals work without it? as i have a second hand drum kit that my brother put together and i've noticed that there is no felt on the hi-hat and no matter how i much i change the hi-hat it doesn't sound right

You've tightened the clutch too much on your top cymbal, son. Makes a lot of difference to your sound. Also, separation of your hi-hats shouldn't be more than about an inch, allowing for individual requirements, everything from music type to physique, and that's after you have employed your bottom screw to off-set your cymbal interface so air doesn't get trapped in there. Also makes a lot of difference to your sound.

Brother you did a way better job at explaining this process than the weird instructions I got in written paper haha. You broke it down into more detail such as saying turning the bottom cymbal upside down and where the felt is supposed to go on top and bottom.
