Classic Mini Clubman - Bottom Arm & Tie Bar Fitting + She Rolls!!

In this episode we getting the clubby rolling once again, now this is only temporary but wow how cool does she look. We also get the last of the top and bottom arms fitted with new bushes etc.

Enjoyed watching your videos. Used to have a Clubman 1098cc in Tahiti Blue back in the early 80’s when I was at college. Drove like a go kart and I once fitted a twin tub washing machine in it by taking the front passenger seat out!

Looking good mate. At first I wasn't sure about the colour. But now i really like it. Good choice of wheels 2. Could look cool with some black thrown in with the silver. You should be really proud to have brought it back from it rusty grave 👍

Now that its getting back together I'm so pleased you went with the Bronze Yellow rather than the Harvest Gold that I suggested because it really stands out, with hindsight I don't think the Harvest Gold would have done. Thank you Elizabeth for proving me wrong 👍🏻😂

@@SimpsonsClassics My mate has bought some 6x12 Alleycats on Yokohama 048's that have only done 20 miles for half the new price for the '84. As you saw its a long time away from wheels but at that price it was a no brainer. No good for the Clubman though, not with the look you're going for.

Wee Clubbie looks so good now it’s a buttoned up and on the Rostyles. My wife is bugging me to get her a clubman now too .... she’s deffo got the mini bug since her first mini show a few years ago. Trying to find a good one at the right money could be tricky!!

Hi . I reckon LED strips would be great as reverse light giving a bright good spread of light and they are 12 volt i believe . When i get round to doing my wreck im definatly keen to find something . regards Don.

That’s not a bad idea for sure. I think I have seen it done somewhere. For me I like I like the clean period look. So think I will just do without one it’s not a legal requirement so don’t mind so much 👍

@@SimpsonsClassics I understand you want the clean look. I am thinking under the rear bumper not really VISIBLE.. I am not sure about the legal bit. But when reversing in the dark I have at times cursed the poor light from a poxy reverse light. Well done so far. Rubbing paintwork down..... hard to say STOP THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH !! Before you know it the undercoat shows. Are you going to spray LAQUER ??. REGARDS Don

Don Codman yes I understand that Don that could work well. I cant remember the year but it’s not a requirement for sure on this car but it needs a fog lamp. Yes the sanding down is something I don’t want to do aha but needs must. No the car is a 2k direct gloss paint. So sanding and polishing.

No it’s a clubman 1000 but I built it to look like a early GT as I love the early look of these cars. Clubbys definitely aren’t for everyone

@@SimpsonsClassics I checked on the minispares site on the drawings and the cup washer goes against the poly bush. I only checked as I've just fitted mine and i did mine to the drawings.

Boot badge? Can't see any mounting holes.

No the replacement boot lid didn’t have any. The badge that came off the car had broke all its studs off the back so it will most likely be stuck on.

Odd that, I don't remember ever seeing a mini boot lid without badge holes. Oh well, sticking it on will stop people from nicking it at least. They always were pretty easy to remove, even without tools.

Veni_Vidi_Vortice MPi’s don’t have rear badge holes, they’re just a water trap so marcs done right by sticking them on.
