Bump stops attached to the Damper can slightly increase heights which then will affect down force.

A 4 way adjustable damper has a fast and slow bump and rebound. Rapid oscillations from the springs are dampened by fast bump and rebound eg. kerbs bumps in the track surface. The slow settings are for general car movement eg. cornering. Slow settings are affecting the transitional movements specifically at corner entry and exit when weight transfer is happening. Dampers control rate speed, not the amount of weight transfer. Mid corner has negligible effect on dampers. For Corner entry settings we look to slow front bump and slow rear rebound. For corner exit we look to slow rear bump and slow front rebound. The confusion is where many believe the see saw effect is how to tune, eg. By stiffening or increasing the number of damper on that side of the car the weight is kept over that axle longer to induce more effect. From what I've read professionally. A stiffer slow bump or rebound actually transfers the weight faster. Same as springs and ARBs therefore we know on corner entry a stiffer slow front bump will give more understeer, yet I also believe that a stiffer slow rear rebound will actually give more oversteer as the weight transfers quicker the same as spring effect etc. I believe the stiffer end has less grip is still true. And the see saw effect of softening the slow rear rebound does not in fact actually transfer the weight to the front faster to allow more oversteer is possibly false. My research continues.

Actually Spring Preload will accommodate Dampers Weight transfer as most Drag Racing and Oval applications use .

Too Clear up There is 2 separate uses for Dampers . The Driver Input is one seperate damper action . Damper angle can assist the accuracy The Road Feed back is another and operates the action of the Dampers/Shock

This is why I play casually,all the settings which confuse my small mind,I just play offline with the ai set at 85 percent and enjoy myself. My mind just doesn’t understand all these complicated concepts,usually the only thing I do is set the gear ratios,when the sum starts giving me a migraine ,itks usually me stumbling around in the setup screen.

The dampers create Mechanical grip not Down Force.
