My new Cockpit for Simracing with a touch of classic and vintage racing. Includes 4 Buttkickers for curbs, road texture, gear change, motorvibs, etc.
Changes but unfortunately not in this video!!!:
July 18 integration of a seat mover (next level motion 3) for much more immersion. little changes was necessary in the rig (not in this movie).
May 2019: Replace Fanatec V2.5 with Fanatec Direct Drive Wheel DD1.
August 19. Buying a VR (Pimax 5K) but I'm not happy with the sharpness, so I decided to make the triple better and I bought 3 x 32" curved monitors 1440p G-sync compatible. The imersion is with this size much better but I had to buy the RTX 2080 TI for enought fps.

Wheel: Fanatec DD1 (2019), Motion system: Next level motion 3 (7.18), 4 buttkickers, Pedal: Fanatec V3i, Shifter: Fanatec SQ1.5, many parts of Symprojects, dsd Button box, electrical components from conrad and a lot of self made.

Thats a very nice setup. ( seen in the video ). I am gonna make one, from a actual car, either 2 or 4 door car, most likely an european or american car. I've worked on cars before, mechanical, electrical, body and so on, therefore this will not be hard for me, and will make it work on low budget too, with at least decent results.

Very nice setup ! Maybe, you should adjust your FOV to see only the windshield. Even add a tablet if you are missing some dashboard informations.

Sam Tuckett Im not sure how he did it, but it would be possible to do with arduino boards based around 32u4 chip for inputs, and displays could be driven by simhub an application specifically for driving tachs, speedometers etc..

Put to much effort into it looking good and not enough into engineering it well, full steering and motor and pedals all got movement these should have been the first priority not the flashing lights of you want realism. But nice thing to look at and must have took ages. Well done😁

Nice build well done. Do you like having the monitors set back that far and do they feel a little high compared to the wheel base? I only ask because im building similar but having issues with fov and monitor placement. Are your monitors 24s or 27s or something else. Nice job with the butt kickers does the foot plate transducer interfere at all with foot movement?

im integrating the next level motion 3 in the rig in the next weeks. with that i will lift up the seat a little higher. 27“ monitors foot have 2 transducer and are splittet (left and right) and with rubbers are no interferes.
