Luka The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection has improved graphics, but you need to tweak into the graphics rules to make the resolution fit your monitor properly. That's what usually causes the problems.

So, Jim was an orphan with an imaginary dad. He moved with a psycho who spent her time bullying him (and making out with his imaginary dad somehow), then went to college where everyone hated him, took a two days vacations where he ended up broke making him a dropout. then a fire fighter yelled at him a lot which led him to his first murder. The Jim lore is more intresting then any of the Lord of the rings books.

Sims 2 is still a super awesome game, even though the hype is not that big anymore, there are still many people who run Sims 2 blogs, create CC and convert items from newer Sims games to the Sims 2. Sims 4 clothing kinda fit very well into the Sims 2 world!

Possibilities were awesome, the game however had one very decisive flaw: The Time reset when returning from another lot. They even fixed it for Bon Voyage (to avoid an exploit enabling the player to infinitly extend his stay) but didn't bother to carry it over to the Base Game and other expansions. Especially University, Nightlife and Open For Business would have improved greatly by it: No more exams at 3AM due to Time Reset, no more Partying all night long just to return on time for bed and going to work in the next morning and no more running a shop all day long and then return to re-live the same day at home (or simply return to your shop)... That's why I only returned briefly once - back when TS3 demanded Origin to be installed regardless of whether you have a physical copy of the game or not.

The real time vacation thing in Bon Voyage actually bugs me and I will often work around it with the "sethour" cheat and just keep the same day going for as long as i want, running 1am to 11:59pm indefinitely (or at least until my sim gets to see all the sights and collect all the vacation memories etc).

The Sims 2 is the sequel every video game franchise wishes to have. It took everything that made TS1 so great and improved it x1000. The only downside I can think of is the ridiculous number of loading times, but the sheer genius of the game itself makes me easily overlook that. The Sims 3 and 4 pale in comparison imo.

Exactly! While Sims 1 itself was a big deal, as there wasn’t any simulators like it before it, it went from a basic dollhouse with limited angle views and camera rotations to a 3D world with dynamic camera movements and more complex characters where each one has their own mind, wants, needs and behaviour. Sims 2 was a revolution, and it became that way because the developers saw its potential and were very passionate about the game. Thats some development that’s VERY hard to achieve nowadays. That’s actually why Sims 4 sucks, because it doesn’t improve anything, it just has prettier graphics and a decent CAS, but even that can be fixed in the Sims 2 with mods. The gameplay is also very basic and has nothing new, with nothing unique about the characters and if anything, none of them are different from the other. Despite having the best graphics, Sims 4 has the dullest gameplay and characters. The Sims franchise basically went from a dollhouse, which was new back when it was released, to a revolution, then back again to a dollhouse. Sims 3 is very negotiable. I think it’s better than Sims 4 but when it comes to content and gameplay I think it’s equal to Sims 2.

Sims 2 is better than Sims 3, not equal. Good graphics mean nothing without depth and personality. Sims 2 is incredibly entertaining compared to 3 and 4 and you don't have to micromanage to create a great story. No mod fixes how boring 3 and 4 is, imo. There's a lot to do in 3 but the sims in general are boring as hell!

Lisa Null Newer systems don't work very well with the disc version, hence why lots of people stopped playing. However, with the EA support team being as amazing as they are, they're allowing old simmers to download it through Origin instead 😊

the shadow problem is caused by nvidia graphics cards being too new to handle sim shadows. there is a mod on MTS to fix it

Aria Mi I have amd radeon graphics and had that problem. You can fix a lot of the graphics problems(including the resolution) by changing a certain file(forgot the name).

Actually, you can play Sims2 in 1920x1080 and it does still look pretty decend with it. You just have to make the game accept your graphic card. Google is your friend. For me its still the best Sims game of all time.

I sense a story to be had here. Grognak pranked the young Jim Pickens all his life, until he snapped and pulled the ultimate prank on Grognak, causing him...her...him/her...it to get Amnosia. Now Jim is the ultimate prankster and Grognak is forever doomed to annoy people but without it being deliberate. The story might need some MCU touch ups but it's getting there. Edit: Ermmmm well, Grognak wasn't supposed to die. It's like what Disney said to Carrie Fisher.

Back in the old days of playing Sims 2, I would record of my Sims, either with the family or friends (living in uni dorm) playing the instruments like a true band. It's just soooo satisfying and fun. Damn, I miss this game so much. Hours ago I was on marathon listening to Sims 2 soundtrack playlists and then saw this video on my recommendation 😭 Sims 2 is also the only Sims game that so far I created craziest Sims (family) ever 💖

trust me, as someone who cant upgrade.... sims 2 is very limited... you cant even have super fat sims and its.... tedious to download custom stuff... however the community is still going strong and making new stuff I think sims 3 was the pinnacle of sims due to the amazing customization options but to each their own :)

Sims 4 is amazing, multi-tasking, toddlers who don't need 100% of your attention. I honestly think people don't like it because they don't want to, they don't like change and improvement.

sims 4 is limited. We expected more, and we literally got nothing. It is ts2 with more expensive stuff packs and better body editing, and 5 lots per world. So we don't like it cuz it could've been way better.

Milly, I was disappointed with _The Sims 4_ when I first got it. I had transitioned from _The Sims 3_ with Pets and Seasons, which was so much fun, and the open world part was amazing. But no computer I had could handle it after a few generations and the game would refuse to save every time I opened it. So I really had to buy _The Sims 4_ if I wanted to experience _The Sims_ again. You know, it actually really grew on me. It got infinitely better after toddlers were added. It fixed a frustrating gap in the Sims' lives. I now play with Get to Work and Parenthood as well as mods and custom content. It'll never be _The Sims 3,_ but it's just as fun in its own way.

Sims 2 did look a lot better than this video shows: the game can't detect new video cards so only offers one fucked up video option unless you go in and edit the graphic rules which will allow for proper viewing on modern monitors with modern graphics cards. And you can use max graphical capabilities once you've done that. Playing it like this ends up with a stretched-ass viewing screen, it's weird. The shadows issue is also related to this, though someone wrote up a fix for it. Basically, Sims 2 is the best, but you NEED to mod it to hell with the decade's worth of mods meant to fix where it's broken (prevent corruption, fix dumb shit, in-game bugfixing tools, fix issues related to it not agreeing with modern machines). And then it wins the franchise imo.

MegaKaitouKID1412 Yeah, probably one of the few downsides to the Sims 2 is how broken it is. The premade neighbourhoods come pre-corrupted so not only do you need to install mods to prevent corruption, you also need to download neighbourhood replacements if you ever plan on playing the premade neighbourhoods. Additionally, some things in game that don't even use cheats can corrupt your game. Never delete graves, never delete sims (including in the family bin), never let the game randomly delete sims, don't move lots with graves or sims into the bin, don't save when your sim is calling someone or a ghost is around, don't resurrect pre-dead sims in the original three neighbourhoods, don't move in NPCs you shouldn't and don't let Mrs Crumplebottom get turned into an occult.

In Sims 2, I got a Sim pregant and then sent her on Vaca before she started to show. I put her in the pool, and she blew bubbles out of her butt forever after that. Best glitch ever :D
