30:03 Yes The Sims 2 has 'moveobjects on' and other useful cheats for building. This is the first video I'm watching from your channel, so if anybody told you this before, sorry for being redundant, but in case nobody told you: Press Ctrl+Shift+C to open the cheat box and type 'moveobjects on', press enter. Other useful cheats for building are: boolprop allow45degreeangleofrotation true/false (true to activate, false to deactivate). This allows u to turn everything in a 45 degree angle. only works if you're rotating the object with the keys, not the mouse) boolprop snapobjectstogrid true/false (true to activate, false to deactivate). Allows you to place the objects basically anywhere. If i remember correctly, you need moveobjects activated first. You can also use they same keys you use in TS4 to raise or lower objects on the walls (frames, sconses, etc). You also have OMSPs which allow you to add multiple spots to a surface (or just the air). @@DarlingPlaysGames also, if you have full game, you can activate "setquartertileplacement on" on the cheat bar and press ctrl+f on your keyboard to activate it. it's way easier to place stuff than with snapobjects because you still have a grid, just a little more free and precise. hope that's helpful for you!

This is really inspiring. I used to build so much in the sims4 but in the sims2 i haven't put too much effort into it exept for furnishing. I have a test hood i got a bit attached to so its all i play now and the amount of drama is amazing. Im definitely going to try harder with the hood now lol.

➡️If you press Crtl+F you can place the objects centered on the grid, no more TETRIS with the TV, that used to drive me CrAzy (I need everything centered and nice), if you use Ctrl+F when placing chairs around tables, you will need to test if the game will set them in their places at simulation mode first, if the game do, they will be working just fine! There's the snapobjects cheat, but sims won't use objects like beds, chairs or bookeshelfs that were placed with said code, so this code is better used to rugs, clutters and deco they won't be needing to interact with 🤪 ➡️Actually there's a mod that allows you to place the toddler's high chair at the table and so the parents can access it from the sides, If I'm not wrong search: Sims 2 High Chair Access Mod and there you go, no more toddler's "left aside" at family dinner time !😂 ➡️ The ] [ keys will allow you to go up and down with some objects, but there's also a mod that makes almost all objects from the game shiftable. ➡️ If you're trying to place deco or clutter at surfaces and shelfs, you can press M and the object will switch to all the available slots there, if there's not good slot options, the OMPS is a good mod for you.

Love these Sims 2 down to earth let´s plays ! Special, this and several other the use of the out for business EP. This economy driven aproach diverts away from a side show like item. Work, workplace integral part of the story as all those hired jobs elsewhere tremendous frustrating time consuming and unsatisfactory. Some custom content might be linked in the description ?

I love your neighborhood!!! Wonderful homes and families. I love the little touches, like naming each street based off of different fruits. So cute and creative. You've inspired me to try my hand at creating my own hood. I've been playing the Sims 2 since it came out, but never built a custom hood seriously. I was wondering. Do you have townies in this hood? What about the families that typically appear in the family bin? Also, if you would be so kind...where did you get those lovely windows and doors you used in the Foster families home?

I'm glad I could inspire you in any way, building a custom hood is a lot of work but it really is so fun! :) To answer your questions; I don't have any EA townies in this hood, every character that is/or will be in Starryvale is one that I've made up, just because I like the idea of having control over who's in my town haha that also means that I won't be putting any of the EA bin families here intentionally either! These are lovely buildings especially given you are working mostly without custom content -- as you say that can be a real challenge. May I ask why you don't download cc to fill in the gaps? There's so much amazing stuff available that can really modernize the game! Garden of Shadows is a favorite site of mine with people who are still to this day, 20 years later, making wonderful stuff for this game. Truly amazing that it inspired the growth of such an awesome community. Anyway, thank you for the video!
