You're the only youtuber who tackles these budget options for that you are a hero. I mean who else risks buying from aliexpress and finding real gems and warning us of what not to buy as well. Other youtubers force other mainstream brands down our throats while you give alternatives for those of us who cant afford that yet. Thanks again and can't wait for your other reviews. Its amazing that there are fewer views for your videos than other mainstream channels. You deserve more views and subscribers by far. Hope you can create a recommended cheap budget set up please 😅😅😊 from rig, pedals, wheel base. Other guys have done this but only include logitech thrustmaster moza fanatec sometimes cammus. Maybe you can have a ranking for example for pedals simjack>simsson>tlcm>srp lite pedals 😅😅

If you take it apart it should have a pokornyi engineering board in it. Mine does. I also had to resolder the micro usb to the aviation plug it lost connection because of ffb vibration.

People have to be careful in their description and calling it a copy. It's not a copy. It's an open DYY design you can easily buy and download the files from them. Just like all equipment it's source from a Chinese manufacturer. They make the same thing for different people.

Just received mine. The push function on the encoders is not wired at all, so you will need to DIY if that's something you were wanting. The lower right encoder is wired as a "layer" switch where each position assigns a new +/- button value to the "Multi" encoder on the left. So you select a "function" on the right encoder, and increment with the left. My 2, 3, 4, and 5 o'clock FUNC positions are not wired or otherwise inoperable and do not activate a new layer on the MULTI encoder.

I've got one of these (carbon fiber version because it's lighter). For the price it seems like a steal. One thing to note is that while those thumb encoders do click, they are not mapable buttons.

I have this wheel, the one thing that I don't like about it is that the two rotary switches at the bottom have stops, so you'll only get a few clicks in each direction until it stops, would have been nice if they were continuous. I had a couple of QC issues like the bottom pushes weren't being lit and one of the toggle switches came loose from its housing but the seller (Simsonn) was lovely to deal and sent replacement parts quickly.

What software do you use to make this match up with Windows? Will the hole pattern of the wheel match with Fanatec quick release?

There are no drivers needed, it's functions as plug-and-play as a USB button box. The Fanatec QR is not a standard pattern, so it will not fit this.

nice budget wheel and good review. anyway I've been looking at some loadcell pedals at the 200 price range. ive looked at the Thrustmaster Tlcm's, Moza SRP's and the Fanatec (not elite) csl load cell Which one would you advise me to get?

New to simracing, is there any way to use this wheel with Moza/Simagic since the QR isn't compatible? Can i buy a different QR to use with this wheel and a Moza/Simagic wheelbase?

You can buy a separate QR. The Moza one is £55. I have bought a cheaper one from AE which does fit but I'm waiting for my wheel to arrive so I can test it properly before recommending.

As mentioned elsewhere here, this does look to be an exact replica of Pokornyi Engineering GT2 Button Box. Not casting aspersions on SRC, but seems to me it ought to be mentioned and cited, perhaps in a follow up.

@@mrcathands-go3df Just about every single sim racing product is similiar to something before it. There isnt much variation in anything these days. My simsonn pedals are a direct rip off of HE ultimate pluses.....and just as good....just 1000.00 cheaper. They are even plug and play with Heusinkvelds electronic box! Its crazy. One company makes money even after sellingit to me for 250.00, while the other charges 1250.

Yep!! that was the exact reason why I bought this. I saw it on AliExpress. But for some reason mine did not come with a top plate (different seller I guess). I Already had a nice leather rim. I drive this thing almost daily The build quality is insane for the price.

I've received my button plate and rim today and I'm happy with the plate but would agree that the wheel is not worth it. It does the job but has a very fake leather feel and makes the whole setup feel cheap. I've tested the wheel with the R9 and a budget QR for £18 and it all works fine. Just need to replace the rim now.

This is probably a complete Pokornyi hub copy, if it's like the others on Ali. Also, the lower right switch is mappable to 12 different functions and controlled by the left lower switch. As an example. You use position 1 on right switch as TC and map the left switch as up and down, etc. The combination gives you 12 differents sets of 2 button presses. Again, this is how it works on Poko hub and I am pretty sure this is the same.

I agree. I own the Pokornyi and it seems to be an exact copy. I considered this one myself but concluded that I was not comfortable buying such an obvious knock off that probably does not benedfit the originator in any way. Not suggesting that this is what anyone else should do, but maybe something to be aware og atleast…

Technically it's not a copy. . But, the files are DIY you can easily buy them. They probably get the boards from the same Chinese manufacturer. Off the same line they just put a different label on it. And in this case the same label.

When switching from TC mode to ABS mode on right switch. Will the abs then suddenly change to the left switch setting? Or do you need to confirm the new setting?

@@TheFrontyer The right switch gives you two buttons (left switch) per position. In game, map the left switch to up and down for ABS (or whatever you like), move the right switch to next position and the map TC (or whatever you like) on the left switch to up and down, etc. The right switch is the function selector, the left switch adjusts it, no need to confirm anything.

70mm (according to Amazon) 'spec's' or I wouldn't be interested -- & it works with an alternate size too -- I have the same qr (as bundled) and running a VRS base/VOTA double paddles & VIRI. Good quality budget parts make the rabbit hole a lot less deep.

IMO the 2 top most buttons are too away from the wheel rim, makes them bit inaccessible. Also shame about the quick release having 8 balls instead of the usual 10, would be a good buy otherwise

@@The_-_Futurist24 it wouldn't work as the spacing of the balls is different than in the 10-ball model. You would need to get an adapter for your wheelbase to make it work

Simsonn has quite the number of CHEAP (not cheaply made) sim gear. This wheel, button box and QR is very affordable! I Love it! I think I'll get the button box and try it with my Fanatec Clubsport wheelrim. Can't wait for the full review. This is a definite buy for me! 😍
