On a knee pipe welding joint. Why do you choose Fillet double sided instead of Groove single sided?

How I can use edge weld in tangent pipe welding with plate

I can't able to select faces. I am creating part 300mm Height and 100 Width and 10 mm thickness. Import part to assembly twice and assembly T joint manner, vertical plate and another plate rotating 90 deg in Z axis. So rotated plate fixing centre of vertical plate.
