Hello @simulink tutorial! Thanks for your videos. I have a question regarding that simulink model showed at 05:13. I had to insert an additional block on k output (Prelookup block) in order to be able to run without data type error. This addition block was the "Data Type Conversion" (to Double). My question is: did you have to do the same? Or could you run this model without this additional block? If so, which configuration you did in order to not need to use this additional block? Thanks in advance.

Hello, Welcome back. Happy to hear that you'll be uploading more videos now. Your videos are very good. Helped me a lot in improving my Matlab skills. Waiting for more embedded based topics. Also, if possible can you make videos on: datatypes in Matlab/Simulink, and Memory block in Simulink. Thanks for your effort on this channel. And all the best for upcoming videos.

Hi Namrata!! I actually extol the effort you put forward to teach us. I have learnt a lot from ur lectures. I faced one question in an interview where I would like your input... "Why do we go for SIL testing when we already have tested our logic in MIL testing, don't you you trust your simulink developed logic? "
@simulinktutorial90864 жыл бұрын
Some projects just go for MIL and then bench testing. But some prefer SIL due reason given below, there could be other reasons as well but below one, I learnt while working on projects. Codegen with different tools: Some projects use Targetlink for code generation. So code from SIMULINK codegen tab will differ from the one which is generated from Targetlink as it has additional codegen checks on blocks. So even if with your MIL test case you see that your model coverage is complete, it might not be on code level. When we perform SIL, we come to know which code is unreachable and which can be tested further. Also, some projects use their own config settings. So while implementing model the model could be with double data precision but when code is generated it is platform specific which could be single precision. So in SIL environment, we come to know the behaviour with precision loss. So it's depends on project. Not all projects I worked for, used SIL. Some even directly used HW testing.

MIL simulates from left (top-bottom) - right .Code it is simulated from top to bottom sequential line by line . If u use read and write memory block this causes 1 raster delay in MIL and SIL .which can lead to problem in real time. There are many things like this.
