This is teaching me the ongoing of the sin I personally fight with, I thought it was over, but I'm still learning how to fight it only through God😔, this is not taught how to fight sin

The idea of 'sin slain' is powerful, but it sometimes feels like sermons focus too much on the battle against sin and not enough on the grace and love that empower us to overcome it. Constantly emphasizing sin can make people feel trapped in guilt and shame rather than uplifted by God’s forgiveness. Are we unintentionally creating a mindset where faith is more about struggling against sin than living in the freedom and joy of Christ? Maybe we should focus more on how God’s love transforms us, making sin lose its power naturally.

You bring up a valuable point-an overemphasis on sin without balancing it with grace can indeed lead to guilt rather than growth. Spurgeon’s message about 'sin slain' isn’t meant to dwell on guilt but to remind us of the victory we have through Christ. The focus is on how God empowers us to overcome sin, not through our strength but through His transformative love and grace. It’s important to highlight that while recognizing sin is essential, the ultimate message is one of hope, freedom, and the joy of walking in new life with Christ.
