I don't know whether we just happen to have really similar taste in music, or if it's just that I'm naturally drawn to scores that have a ton of brass writing and therefore lend themselves to horn/trumpet covers, but you are on a hell of a roll in terms of picking some of my favorite cues. This is a great score by Harry Gregson-Williams - I always saw it as a nice sort of mixture of the classic, fanfare-filled style of swashbuckling/pirate scoring with some more modern Pirates of the Caribbean-type catchy riffs (although I'm actually not sure if this score was written/recorded before or after the first PotC score). Also, that sea monster scene used to scare the living crap out of me when I was younger, and now that I watch it again...it still scares me. The compositing between the CG animation of the monster and the hand-drawn characters/ship is REALLY bad... :p You probably have a request list a mile long, but speaking of pirates - I know it's a terrible forgotten movie, but John Debney's Cutthroat Island score is an absolute dream come true for brass lovers. I wouldn't dream of asking you to tackle the 18-minute final battle cue, but maybe "Carriage Chase"? ;)
@Marc_Papeghin6 жыл бұрын
I think you summed it up pretty well ! A great mix of old-school scoring ( Korngold comes to mind ! ) and a more modern approach ( this is pre-Pirates of the Caribbean by the way, it was written 3 years before ) Really spectacular and exhilarating music :D As for your request, that is one really cool idea ! I know the Cutthroat Island score and it is indeed a true brass extravaganza ! WIll definitely consider covering some of it ;)

This is incredible! This is very useful for me to study the score and see how a player would play it. I'm a composer but my only instruments are piano and guitar. Do you happen to know of any similar channels that do the same thing with other instruments, with the sheet music to follow along?
@Marc_Papeghin5 жыл бұрын
Thanks ! I don't know of a lof channels who do the same thing but for brass you can checkout my friend Keith Polito's channel : kzbin.info/door/Gvd1IDkgOgJBautdYoesgwvideos

Aaa shit... Now I have to watch that movie again... lol. Darn, that John Powell and Harry Gregson-Williams sounds so a like in the musical style. Its hard sometimes to know who is who? There are some parts in here that could have been taken from Ice Age or How to train your dragon. :-)

@DidierMartini6 жыл бұрын
@ThomasKubler6 жыл бұрын
@DidierMartini6 жыл бұрын
