When i was diagnosed i got pelvic exam and a biopsy right away. They assumed endometriosis right away. but i kind of get the whole doctor doubt thing they said I was exaggerating my body pain because i have PTSD. It turned out i have Endo, protein c deficiency and Lupus. both Lupus and Protein c deficiency make periods more intense and causes bad clotting during your period. It was pretty horrible. As someone who has endometriosis I feel for you. I have cramps 24/7. I've had 5 surgeries for it starting when I was about 15 (31 now). I still feel like some doctors think I'm making up the pain. I was told by a couple that it was all in my head. But it's not.
Aahhh Mine was just like “okay cool, time to die :)”
@garbage_puppy4 жыл бұрын
mine started at school during phys ed, so I had to tell the creepy smiley coach that I needed to go to the nurse. No matter how many times I said it was a personal issue, he insisted on me saying what it was. I was about to start crying when my friend stepped in and said it for me. He then laughed as if it was funny and wrote me a nurse's pass. The next day he kept smiling at me and asking if I felt alright. It was a good thing I left the school the next week because of traumatic family issues but seriously, he was a creep.

This is heartbreaking, having to live through extreme pain for years must be absolutely horrible..And the fact people made fun of her for that is just sad. I'm so happy she was finally free from that. 😢

I had intense stomach problems at 6 years old, my mom called me a liar when i told her, two days later i hadnt left my room and she started to be concerned. When we went to the ER, the doctor examined me and told me my PERIOD had started. Im the youngest in my family to have it this early, but my father never believed me. He called me a wh*re, a sl*t, and this is the reason im suicidal. The pain in my heart doesnt ever stop, because my father, the main male person in my life, called me a failure.

I am so sorry for the pain and ridicule this girl went through. I’ve been through similar things and nearly died because doctors and even my parents didn’t believe or didn’t know what was wrong with me. A person can truly feel alone in that circumstance. I’m glad she finally got a diagnosis and is doing better.

Yeah, around that age I started to throw up at least once a week. Teachers and nurses told my parents I was faking it. But it's hard to think that when I go home and throw up. It went away mostly, and now I just feel like I'm going to throw up, or I get a little dizzy ( I had felt like passing out and passed out once when I was in 5th grade)

Similar story. I had endometriosis from age twelve on, and doctors thought I was exaggerating the pain and I just couldn't deal with normal period pain. I had to stay home from school a week every month because of the pain, which would sometimes make me pass out. Eventually I convinced my doctor to do a laparoscopy to see what was going on. I woke up to him saying, "I'm sorry. You were right all these years. You have stage 4 endometriosis. Your bladder and uterus were fused together. Part of your colon had to be resected." It took me 6 years to get a diagnosis. I am infertile because of it. I also was at risk for cancer, which I ended up getting and I'm dealing with that right now. I would've had much more respect for the doctors if they said "I don't know what this is, but I'm going to try and find out" rather than "it's psychosomatic pain. go see a psychologist." You know your own body, and you know when something isn't normal. Keep using your voice and eventually, someone, somewhere will listen.

I am so glad for this story. She has without a doubt helped women with this story realize their own answers. I myself do not have endometriosis, but I have a friend who does. She also had to struggle learning about her pain. I'm so glad for this video, because it is an approachable, easier explanation. As for the ignoring, I think many kids' ailments are written off as whiny or temperamental kids. My mom told me I was lazy for a year because of my back complaints. Towards the end of that year, I crawled to the nurse's office in pain. The nurse gave me a peppermint. When I got back to class the pain had subsided, and the teacher was pondering over my previous anguish. So, mom, in embarrassment, took me to the doctor to finally show me just how lazy and stubborn I was. Whaddya know - my gallbladder was almost 3x it's healthy size and I was scheduled for a surgery two days after.
