I broke my ankle and the doctor was about to let me WALK out of the ER on the diagnosis of a mild hairline fracture to my fibia. I get ready to stuff my softball sized foot back in my shoe when the doctor comes back in with a new x-ray (she didn't look at all the films) saying my ankle had a full compound fracture. I went to another doctor who did more testing and learned that BOTH of my ankles were broken, but the fracture to my other ankle was on a bin weight-baring part so I could technically walk on it. I also learned that the ankle the first doctor said was essentially fine needed repairs, debrisment, and a tightrope and permanent plates. I would get mad, but I got proper treatment and went back to unrestricted work (I work in the animal field) 3 months later.

I have yet again learned an interesting new thing from one of your videos! I never even knew the difference between eccrine and apocrine glands, or that only one of them is often triggered by stress and trauma. Makes a lot of sense to why I sweat excessively for seemingly no reason and get smelly easily, just considering my chronic stress and traumas. Ironically enough, since I moved away from my toxic family I’ve been sweating a lot less and have very minimal B.O. Thank you for this simultaneously hilarious and educational video ❤

Honestly, I cannot agree. I remember studying the human body at age 12 in middle school, and we were all much more active and prepared students. Everyone knew more or less about period, and we used our knowledge from outside or from previous years to complement the information given and put it in context. I know for fact I knew a ton more back then, than what those 16yos do. 16yo is quite old already, in Italy we study the human body again at 17 at a much deeper level, combining the biology with the chemistry etc etc. Ari did great for his 12yo, the older guys surprised me for how not trained their brain was. I don't know if it's the new generation, the American system or just those two guys specifically, I don't want to judge stuff that I don't know, but this definitely wouldn't be accepted in high school in Italy.

@ haha one of the main reasons that you should consult a doctor if your period lasts more than a week is that it might not in fact be a period but rather some bleed in your reproductive organs that was camouflaged by your period. When it’s a normal thing for a girl to have extended periods ( as in she’s had them every months for over a week ) then typically it’s just the way her uterus works.

@jules52154 жыл бұрын
What's uncomfortable about a normal bodily function. Surely normalising bodies is what we need right now
@AJ-fx1fc4 жыл бұрын
What’s uncomfortable about it? It’s completely normal, and trust me, it’s not that hard to understand, just because periods seem difficult doesn’t mean you need to treat the whole natural process like it’s something embarrassing or uncomfortable, you say you want a more easier explanation? Let’s start with normalizing a woman’s body
@the_demon_cat3374 жыл бұрын
I actually thought his explanation was pretty good just maybe add the possible side effects like cramping, headache, nausea etc. a bit about how the blood actually flows, period products and what different irregularities could mean. I don’t sorry got a bit carried away I didn’t have a great health class. Plus I personally find making it sound more clinical or just b happens because of a makes it a lot less uncomfortable well making it sound more normal.

Just wanted to add here: there's a great, big channel called Sexplains :) She is fantastic and I never learned more about women or generally intimate subjects than over there. You never know, maybe a collab incoming?

Jules Reed We can respect that is might be uncomfortable for some boys while still educating them about it. that’s how you normalize it. Don’t make them feel bad that they’re uncomfortable, and don’t pretend it doesn’t exist. That won’t help anything

How to explain the period to a boy: Uterus wants a baby Uterus did not get a baby Uterus is mad Uterus is now a volcano Uterus has ripped the insides apart and is now crying blood.

exactly! I saw a comment on another video I watched that said it similarly, it said... Uterus makes a nice room for a baby with wallpaper and everything Uterus doesn't get a baby Uterus is enraged, so angry in fact that it rips the wallpaper off violently Uterus then calms down and tells itself "Well, there's always next month"
