Thanks for talking about Sinestro. I think he's the most underrated comic book villain. A good life action adaptation could genuinely put him up there with the great movie antagonists.

He's definitely up there on the best of the underrated villains

That idea for the sith/yellow lanterns can be made a story today. The yellow lanterns doubt sinestro and go to overthrow him with a bunch of infighting. He realizes making multiple rings was dumb and then wipes them out just leaving one left to have his back

I'd love to see a Sith inspired DC story. Hal turning into Parallax had some similarities but I think there could be another one with Sinestro trying to run an "empire".

Sinestro is honestly one of my favourite DC villains/comic book villains. He's a complex and incredibly well-written character, representing the antithesis of everything the Green Lanterns represent. To an extent, Sinestro is somewhat correct in his motivations since you can really argue that in a world entirely full of mad alien tyrants like Darkseid or Mongul and ruthless killing machines like the Manhunters, insane maniacs like Lobo or universal threats like Starro, Nekron/Black Lanterns or the Anti-Moniter, unfortunately willpower won't always be enough to stop them and sometimes fear can be the best motivator to instil justice, though with Sinestro its misguided justice, not true justice. However, the idea of Sinestro instilling fear to create peace is something that he and Batman have something in common? If anything, the Guardians of Oa are more of the villains than Sinestro is, considering all the messed up things they've done? Sinestro is such a fascinating villain that he deserves more time in the spotlight and attention. His downfall is written like a sci-fi Shakespearean downfall, kin to Anakin, Count Dooku's downfall or Macbeth's downfall to madness. I really hope he someday makes a live-action debut in James Gunn's DCU and has his character done justice to really take the character down a multi-film character arc, going from an ally to slowly falling to become an enemy and even going on a redemption arc of sorts studying his character, motivation and relationship with characters like Hal and Abin Sur.

If they ever do a Green Lantern movie trilogy, Sinestro should start out as a supporting character in the first movie. He is not a first movie villain because we need to develop him as Hal’s friend first.

As a big dc fan who doesn't really have the time or budget for reading comics at the moment, these videos and your channel in general has given me even more insight on these characters that I love, so thank you

Thanks man I appreciate it! I haven't kept up with comics since 2018 because I agree, they cost so much and there's so many lines to read. The Pre-New 52 is the best era in my opinion.
@Conk_Creet7 ай бұрын
@@tyrellmultimedia I definitely agree nothing can top Pre-52 overall. Also in terms of comics I know the DC universe app has a huge collection of comics from every era. I just couldn't do another subscription service but it's a good alternative to buying them all one by one

I think possibly one of the best representations of having Sinestro as a big bad was the Sinestro Corps War storyline. His Corps had some absolute powerhouses: Henshaw, Superman-Prime, the Anti-Monitor. And he decimated the Green Lanterns in that storyline, man! That being said, I want to see you do a video on Black Manta, Starfire, maybe even Trigon at some point!

The idea with a fear member at every corp when conquering it reminds me of the Viltrumites

I like these hot takes and I agree, he should be used more than just "look at me, I'm no longer a Green Lantern, s'up?" I hope the Lanterns show is good, and maybe he can be used a bit there. A teaser or cliff hanger for the next season. Oh I also work at a law firm, I'll look into your Trade Mark request. Just keep saying it then you can claim it's origin on this channel. There's almost 2K views to back you up 😆

Didn’t put my hot take on your video…. **sigh** oh well But here’s other hot take anyhow, I bet Sinestro would try to manipulate those who knows about fear like Batman for example, and possibly have ‘em join his corps, if that’s even possible for him to do so!!
@trolleymouse7 ай бұрын
That last one: Sinestro actually can change the colour of his ring, as of Volume 6. During a battle with Hal, he ends up shifting into Red.
@cak177 ай бұрын
Because Sinestro is so smart I feel like he would figure out a way to become so powerful in the universe that everybody would be afraid of him besides the Green Lantern, of course. And everybody will be forced to wear a yellow ring because of how afraid of him they will be. Just a fun story idea
@Jinkintsu2 ай бұрын
Ive always thought Sinestro should have been akin to a Doctor Doom or Magneto-esque character, he doesn't think he's truly the bad guy, but is too obsessed with his emotion of fear as well as power that it often gets into his head.
@justjackson71527 ай бұрын
Really hot take: I kinda like the classic costume better. I wouldn’t want everyone in the corp to wear it (I don’t really even like the idea of the sinestro corp that much) but I think it’s interesting that he wears this blue space man uniform looking thing and I like that it doesn’t have a big logo on the chest.
@CommentingCommenter7 ай бұрын
It would be interesting if the Sinestro Corp did have a limited number of members, like 100 at a time or something. DC has done it to other corps in the past like with the Red and Blue Lanterns, plus it would allow the unique Yellow Lantern members to get development like Arkillo, Kryb, Tekik, and Karu-Sil to name a few. Maybe while they only have a certain number of ring users, they have allies like the Weaponers of Qward and their own version of the Manhunters to boost their numbers. I do like the idea of Sinestro stepping down as the leader of the Sintestro Corp, as if he did I could see someone more fitting taking over the newly named Yellow Lantern Corp like Arkillo or even Scarecrow if the writers wanted to give that character an upgrade.

To be honest, regarding his underuse in Injustice games, he actually had a very big role in the Injustice comics, and I think he was handled better in the comics.

Might just be me, coming from a casual Green Lantern fan/reader but I feel like when it comes to Sinestro, he's overused and not enough focus is given to other yellow lanterns. I would dare say not enough focus is given to other more unknown lanterns in their respective corps. Everyone knows about Sinestro, Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Larfleeze, Star Sapphire etc. yet hardly anyone knows about Atrocitus, Dex-Starr, Soranik Natu, Mogo The Living Planet etc. unless you're a MASSIVE fan of the comics. As a casual reader, I would like to know more about these lesser-known (some would say underappreciated, underrated or overlooked) characters within the whole Lantern story, and I understand that DC has those popular characters because it brings in the money but what's the point of expanding the universe and creating entirely new characters if you're not going to use them half the time or when the stories call for them to appear (and never again after the fact)?
@alexanderlaird62067 ай бұрын
2:29 the orange lantern corps is literally that except more so the rule of 1. That being said Larfleeze would be a goofy sith.

Potential unpopular opinion/hot take about comic book villains in general, I’m sick of so many of them becoming anti heroes or even straight up heroes. I love anti heroes but there’s too many of them in my eyes. Let heroes stay heroes, let villains stay villains and let anti heroes stay existing on their own. Sometimes one of them can overlap and become another one of them but not all that often.
