The DCU casting so far has been incredible. Yeah, some may find the Hal Jordan casting odd, but it should be clear by now that John Stewart is going to be the main Lantern as he was in the Animated Series. Can't wait to see who they cast for Wonder Woman and Batman.

Exactly this!! I keep seeing people (mostly on reddit, given) bitch about this concept and I don't understand it!! At base value, it makes sense. A suspicious murder happens on Earth, in the vicinity of where the Earth based lanterns live, and they are curious, but the guardians ignore earth so don't send the entire corps, but they let the human lanterns do whatever as long as it doesn't break the code of the rings. This has happens 100s of times in Lantern mythos, and I'm totally down for this being a way for us to flesh out the lanterns when we are going to BEGIN with 3 of them already existing and being trained! In my mind, if this story is successful, this only leads to one endpoint, an adaptation of Blackest Night. Why else would you fasttrack lantern mythos and lore and story, when you could easily get an entire trilogy out of just John and Hal alone.

I think it would be cool if the opening scene of this season would be the team walking away from the butterfly battle and instead of the DCEU Justice League showing up, it would be Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Hawkgirl and Mr Terrific. That would show right from the start how this next season will be different.

Dynamic Duo can easily be in the DCU canon, all they have to do is say that it takes place shortly after Jason joined Bruce but before Dick became Nightwing. I'm pretty sure Dick was also going by Robin through Jason's Robin tenure and into Tim's time as Robin.

I'm pretty sure the premise of the story is that they knew each other as young orphans and were friends prior to either meeting Bruce. So it's either an Elseworlds story or they're adapting their history differently from the comics for the DCU.

A great actor can play Vandal Savage and emote with his face rather than CGI, which is nice. (Mongul / Philip Kennedy Johnson run is my favorite recent arc); in the spirit of getting ahead of myself, I would love in Superman II a Mxyzptlk opening and quick exile for fun. Movies - James Mangold Swamp Thing. A Bane/Deathstroke buddy action flick that opens with New Japan pro-wrestling and takes after Lethal Weapon. Orion with Batista.

I like to imagine the way it works in terms of tone is like imagine when the characters enter Metropolis, it's all bright, high contrast/saturation - when they enter Gotham, it's dark, dystopian, raining most of the time, color grading is less saturated/muted colors (pale muted blue and red if Superman enters Gotham, etc).

I wonder if the contract details are keeping the big names from accepting roles (e.g., having to be available for tv and animated productions), if it's budget reasons or if Gunn just doesn't want any big names. Most names are kinda known, or you know their faces but no household names, aside from maybe Nathan.

The MCU's successful years showed that it's best to use the big named actors in supporting or villain roles because they won't be readily available for minor appearances and cameo spots.

I think something to keep in mind with the naming and series of projects is that leading actors aren’t going to be okay with signing a contract for 10 years without a guarantee that they’re going lead a few projects and be the titular character on a few projects. You can’t sign a lead actor for a decade and then tell them they’re only going to lead one movie and it will be the only project with their name in the title, they won’t accept that.

“Too soon” is a very vague statement. In James’ head that could’ve meant within the next week, 2 weeks, next month, as that would be too soon for him. But getting something almost 2 months down the line still sounds plausible to me as we don’t know what constitutes as “too soon”. And my beliefs only solidify with Corenswet alluding to something in December presumably big enough for him to have his designer get to work.

We don't know if The Authority has writers attached or not. It very well could and just hasn't been announced. Supergirl is already in production with a summer 2026 release date, so any project that has finished development could go into the production phase and be set for release after summer 2026.

I wouldn’t mind a trailer at all you can do it around Christmas it’s not too early. Most of the time when people think it’s too early it’s due to past movies having bad marketing. You can do a small trailer around Christmas that doesn’t show too much at all really just him and his suit maybe saving a kid so you can get the feel of the movie. That way we can see him in the suit and it could be around a minute long. It doesn’t have to be something too into depth like people are thinking and then when the Super Bowl game is on, that’s when we get the official trailer. It comes out in July. It’s not like it’s coming out next November you can release the first teaser 6 to 7 months out. There’s nothing wrong with that at all. You just need to do it right

It's really funny how boba never references the "DCEU" or more specifically anything Snyder did positively, neutrally or even not mention it at all but just show clips,😂 It's so deliberate its CONSPICUOUS, he will show clips from a nearly 50 years old film but not the last cinematic Superman, even when it perfectly fits the topic or is relevant. For example he keeps mentioning the red screen test for the Batman as a way gunn could tease legacy, he could just as easily mention the first tease of man of steel, with him breaking the sound barrier and the b-roll footage. Or talking about the various tones or how you did not need to watch everything in the early DCEU everything stood on its own but was very much connected but he _WILL_ mention/reference it if he's drawing a negative comparison. I disagree. The problem with the DCU was that too many directors were doing their own thing. The studio was throwing crap against the wall to see what would stick. The tone changed her every movie and it never felt like one movie was in the same universe as another. The complicate matters further all these standalone, so-called elsewhere movies The arrow verse and even the animated movies confuse the audience. Which flashpoint is the real one the one from the WB TV show or the one from that horrible flash movie? I’m not so sure. Gunn is going to stick to comics accurate versions. is Adam warlock was literal character assassination.
