Sing It Live: BTS [Born To Be Alive - Patrick Hernandez]

I'll be honest... Being asked to sing one simple line and play the guitar to ’Born To Be Alive’ by ‪@PatrickHernandezOfficial‬' disco hit with the Sing It Live band seemed like a straight forward task. However (insert dramatic suspense sound effect) it was quite the juggling act as you’ll see in this week’s edition of Behind The Sound. Thankfully it all came together in the end, and was a lot of fun, as my trips to Darren’s Basement Studio always are.

I was pleased to see SiL covering Born To Be Alive, and especially seeing how the guitar parts were arranged. Ocasionally I play gigs as a depping guitarist, and last year, had to learn this song for one gig. I did it with just one guitar sound throughout, and didn't have to sing. It would definitely have been a lot harder if I'd been working pedals and a mic too, like Crafty did.

I always enjoy these behind the scenes videos by Crafty. You are right about your voice going low when you are sick. Also, with me anyways, my voice will change from lows in the mornings to highs later in the day. I was able to do a really good Lou Rawls (you never find) early in the morning, as I've been told, and not being able to nail it in the afternoon. Also, I blame Nikki for you missing your part (lol), she knows what I'm talking about from an earlier post...LOL. Darren deserves a shout out and a lot of credit too. I like to thank you all for engaging with your fans, not every cover band is as cordial.
