SINGAPORE CHANGI AIRPORT T2 - GREEN EXPANSION WITH PATRICK BLANC

We follow Patrick Blanc in the Terminal 2 of the Singapore Changi Airport during the inauguration events in early November 2023. The botanical installations concern many different areas and Columns, Ceiling Blades as well as Vertical Gardens have been created, displaying more than 200 different plant species. Here, we focus on the DreamScape Garden, the most iconic creation.

Oui, quatre années de travail mais heureusement, ce fut l'occasion de visiter quantité de forêts dans les différents pays d'Asie, Singapour étant un "hub" pour les transports aériens (pardon pour nos consommations en CO2 mais au moins, sans enfants, nous n'avons pas augmenté la population humaine...).

Yes, plants are amazing. And I had the opportunity to work with a perfect team at the airport. And we should not forget that some very well preserved forest areas are still present in Singapore.

Merci but most of all, the plants are a Treasure ! Of course, the advantage as being a scientist is that I know how the plants will evolve in each situation year after year.

Mais j'ai commencé avec précisément un aquarium de 40 l quand j'avais 13 ans. Et encore maintenant, j'adore les micro environnements à l'échelle des plantes considérées. J'ai une Cryptocoryne longicauda en parfait état depuis 2008 dans un demi litre d'eau !

@@creaturefree je suis également fan des micro environnements(et ça m'arrange!!): une cryptocoryne wendtii et une pogostemon helferi dans un vase de moins de 300ml sans brassage ni chauffage et tout le monde se porte bien!!

Yes there are plants in the different Terminals in Singapore, especially T3 where there is a long vertical garden which has been changed : at the beginning they did install only climbing plants.
