Hi Crystal, glad to hear from you after some time. Happy New Year to you and family. More stores will be setting up in Chinatown as we get nearer to Chinese New Year. They will make Chinatown more lively. I hope they can finish selling their goods too.

Such a lot of preparation for what is clearly a massive event. Thank you for another great video.

Jim, massive is the right word for this year. Your Year of the Dragon! The main Dragon Centre-piece which they have just set up is huge indeed. You will see them in in my videos soon. Thanks!

Chinatown, as seen your content, is always bustling with locals and tourists since it’s also a tourist attraction. The Chinese New Year seems to be a big event, as it even gets coverage in world news.✨ The decorations of dragons during the day and the local music performances set against the illuminated backdrop at night are also featured, capturing the precious red-themed merchandise of the Chinese New Year in the video footage.🏮🧧 We, too, are excited for the countdown to February 10th!☝️😊 Yosh and Iku

All the Dragon and Zodiac lanterns with be illuminated at night when Chinatown Light-up ceremony is held on 19th January. Chinatown will be extremely lively, packed with more locals rather than tourists. The red-themed decorations must be sold by 9th February as nobody will buy them after that. Thanks Yosh and Iku for your wonderful observations.

@@MsLilac88 Friday 19th is Chinatown Light-Up Ceremony day. Ceremony is at Kreta Ayer Square where they were putting up the tentage in this video. Light up is at 7pm. I like to see your Chinatown CNY post. 2 other events are happening on 19th. Light to Night Festival at the Civic District (Padang vicinity) and Dahlia Dreams at Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay.

CNY is very beautiful. But nowadays no more CNY spirit and joyful. Chinese ppl never enjoy themselves these days
@SingaporeCityWalks11 ай бұрын
As a child, I enjoyed CNY in the 1960s and 1970s where clan associations have their firecracker wars. The street in front of the associations would be covered in red with the spent red fire crackers. The CNY spirit is very different now. Times have changed. Chinese people still enjoy themselves, but not like before. We can't turn back the clock, so enjoy the moment, my friend 😀
