Love this series. Informative to the common person on the street (like me), explains simply the economics behind Singapore’s unique monetary policy approach, and also the roles and relationships between different entities e.g. Temasek vs GIC. As for the High-Cost for housing, cry by most people today and putting the blame sole to Government without considering this is just an island without any construction resources, even the land needs to be reclaimed! Never mind, as we had seen foreigners would rather pay hefty price for their housing-spree in Singapore because of its safety & diligent government & stability, upto tens of millions per unit while we can't say the same for Local's born & breed Singkies as we had limited resources, thus the limited jobs opportunity & limited wealth creation opportunity as compared to those wealthy foreigners investors! Although, the government had already provided even cheap 2-bedrooms HDB price but most Singaporean 'see it no-up' would rather compare to those exclusive condominiums price and cry-expensive! So, come my solution, can the Government sort-of ask the developers or even to the extent subsidies those 'private' condominiums price to the extent of 50% off the selling price for certain categories of Local born 2nd generation & married & served NS Singaporean so to stop their crying of housing-too-expensive, anymore? Maybe, 10% quota should be reserved for locals at every housing development be it public & private development and the difference subsidy-prices can be offset from selling at extra sort-of levy to those foreigners, that want to invest Singapore properties as safe-heaven that don't mind paying extra! That will be a 'win-win situation'!

USA national debts shot up from $22 T in 2019 to $33 T in 2023. The pensions in USA would not be sufficiently covered in the futures. USA cant compete with Singapore in accountability and smarts. Singapore had done well ……but I am always amazed why Singaporeans are unhappy about their reserves. The unhappy Singaporeans should try comparing other countries.

Compare with not what is worse but rather what is better. The final bit is a good point: why not just double the taxes on corporations? Why not raise personal income taxes on the rich? Why are they taking the measure of increasing GST to make up for spending? This is not equitable at all and they do not explain the rationale behind it. Has public spending on housing truly created affordable homes for Singaporeans? How long do Singaporeans need to wait in queue for BTO? How about Singaporeans who are single or Singaporeans who are single parents? Why is the government coddling businesses and the ultra-rich? All questions left unanswered while the documentary pursues the lionisation of the people working with the reserves.

They tend to only release information in a matter-of-fact manner that will never have a chance to jeopardize themselves. Such as the reserved funds Singapore has.
