Singapore to Johor Baru Larkin Sentral bus interchange - how to get there, fares plus market visit

Hi everyone, today we're visiting Larkin Sentral - the main bus interchange in Johor State.From here express buses ply to many destinations in Johor and other states. It's also the place for travel via bus or taxi to Singapore. It has a large wet market and lots of other restaurants, smaller food stalls and shops.
This is another video about Larkin but focuses on taxi services and the Selera Johore food court.

Larkin market tips: 1. Prices are cheaper than JB especially at the market (buy dry goods eg chilli, spices etc) 2. Nasi Padang - Ayam goreng, beef rendang, vegetablex2 and fruit juice = less than 6RM for lunch at hawker centre above wet market 3. Martabak- 9RM chicken or mutton, takeaway (keep in freezer and microwave whenever you eat) bought 10 pieces. Can get at hawker centre above wet market or kopi Thiam in bus terminal building

This bus terminal upstairs have lots of tailors can amend your clothes with cheaper price and behind the bus terminal have a red colour building the foods court foods are very tasty especially the Malaysia style mee rebus can added prawns and beef bones.

Thank you Collin. The last bus from Larkin Sentral is 12:30am on weekdays and weekends. After 7pm the frequency of the service is about 20/25 minutes.

You go to gate 1 to 2 for the 170 or other buses back to Singapore.

Hi from woodlands checkpoint after clearing custom, do I board the 170 bus towards Larkin at the same place as where we board CW buses too?

Hi, after woodlands checkpoint you go down the escalator and look out for the signs for 170. I can remember that the CW buses are waiting in the area in front of the escalators. After Malaysian customs keep walking past the money changer and small shop and then past the Malaysian Tourism office to look for the escalator going down for the Larkin buses, 170 or CW.

Hi, after pass thru the malaysia imigration and singapore imigration, do i need to buy a new ticket for 170 to continue go thru to Rochor area, or just use the 170 ticket that I brought at the Larkin sentral?

Hi, if you bought a ticket priced to reach Rochor, then use that. You have to pay more than if you just stopped at immigration.

Yes, the three services start there but if you’re going back to Singapore, you can catch them just after Malaysian immigration. You don’t have to go all the way to Larkin just to get back to Singapore.

Hi sir I have plan to go to kl from sin tomorrow night cause just arrived at changi around 7 pm Need your suggestion. I should go to queen street then by Singapore johor express to larkin & book bus express to KL. Or I should go to golden mile then by bus express to kl but I think the price more expensive. Yes, try and go to Johor Baru Larkin and hope and pray to go a bus to KL. Just be prepared in case you can't get a ticket. You may have to sleep the night in JB (or Singapore). Today is Chinese New Year eve. Best of luck.

Hi Nur, the single trip by SBS Transit 170 from Larkin to Woodlands train station will cost S$1.51 using card, cash S$2.30, distance is about 10 km. There are no return tickets on any of the buses plying between Singapore and Johor Bahru.

In the evenings you can expect heavier traffic. I would think about 2 hours plus if you’re lucky. Have you tried getting a train ticket from JB to Woodlands?

For bus tickets to Johor, they only sell one way tickets. Anyway, when you buy your ticket in JB you pay RM so it's cheaper. You have to download the MySejahtera app or if you have difficulty then print out your vaccination status and bring it with you.

hi im fron indonesia. i want to ask, i will go to kl from bugis, singapore. any recommend? which way i should take? should i take bus from queen street to larkin terminal (because i search theres a bus from route queen street to larkin) or using mrt and bus to woodlands and then go to jb sentral by train, but is there any public transport from jb sentral to larkin terminal? thats my question😁. because based on i search, bus from larkin terminal to kl is cheaper than bus direct from singapore to kl, your answer will be help me😭 because this is my first time trying it

Yes, you're right, the cost effective way is to get to JB Larkin and then take an express bus to KL. For now whether you take train or bus across to JB, because of Chinese New Year rush, the causeway is very, very crowded so try and travel early in the morning

There are many money changers at the bus terminal which is the building next to where the taxis stop. As for Digi mobile chances are, you will be able to find a shop at the bus terminal too.

Thank you for your feedback.Like any city in the world, you have to be more careful at night. Stay away from the dark areas, go to where there is a lot of light. At night don’t carry so much money.

The ticket is sold on a cash basis for all the services. However, if you are taking the service 170 or 170X, those services are on the main public Singapore bus routes and you can now also use Visa or Mastercard when you enter the bus. In Singapore 99% of people use stored value cards as it more convenient and is cheaper than using cash.

@@felicianathania79 you would normally just tap the card like the MRT or if you take the yellow Handal Indah bus or the red Singapore Johore Express then pay cash at the terminus and then board the bus.
