I just want to say thanks for posting this. I got a Singer 111wsv63. My sewing mechanic still has it and is hooking it up to a Servo motor. But, I was unable to find any information on it whatsoever, and thanks to you I know that the sv means special variance (military, yay...since son is an Army officer). I plan to sew horse tack and such, and am so very grateful to you for this video; wish I could have purchased your actual machine, looks like you took good care of it.

Max is 138. You could *maybe* get away with 207 on the top and 138 in the bobbin but that's really pushing it. It works best with a T90 thread in my opinion but it'll run 138 all day though. I think I used 138 for the demo actually.

Genial!!! ¡gracias!

Hi where did you find out it was from WW2?

I came across the old grand dad to the 111 series, a 111w103. Stitch length is regulated by a VERY fussy dial on the handwheel. But I think the rest of the machine is pretty similar. Currently on my workbench being completely disassembled for proper cleaning, removal of varnished oil, and rebuilding. I do a much deeper, part by part, screw by screw restoration process. I can afford to do that because it's just a labor of love and I don't have the pressure of having to balance labor vs. selling price. Hoping it runs this smoothly once it's all back together.
@rmcdaniel423Ай бұрын
My machine is over 80 yrs old, and did its first tour of duty as an automotive upholstery machine in a GM plant in the 40s, as best I could piece together from the seller. Once restored, it will likely outlive myself.
@cobre771714 күн бұрын
Is yours stitching yet? I found mine in a damp basement. The foot lifter was totally stuck. The timing belt was rotten. I think I took apart enough as it is at least all moving now. Totally independent and no timing. But it all seems to be moving!

Maybe you can help me out. i have a 111w114 machine. Basically the samething as this one. when I adjust my stich length to it's longest length it is nowhere near what it should be. The stitch length is closer together than it should be. Is it possible that someone took my machine appart and didn't put it back together properly causing the stitch length adjuster to be out of calibration?

the BEST sewing machine demo I've seen. not to mention the 111 specifics. keep this video available forever. I have this machine an am considering sewing shearling with it. Have you? The Bonus fur machines are harder to find. Don't suppose you have a fur machine for sale??? Thanks.
@thesergeant35248 жыл бұрын
+jessehargus Thanks! You could give the machine a shot with shearling and see how it does but I suspect it will have a tough time feeding it. You'd be better off with a compound feed walking foot machine like the 111W155 with the feet adjusted to maximize the foot stroke height. There are also specialty machines for sewing shearling but they're pricy and not very versatile. Give it a shot and see how it goes. Goodluck!

You can find these parts on ebay pretty easily. For replacement feed dogs search "SINGER 111W / CONSEW 226 255 FEED DOG #240112". Sharp Sewing sells them for ~$13 shipped. If you have a 155 you'll want the single row version. You can purchase the entire upper tension assembly for $10-15 on ebay as well. Search "Singer 111W Tension Assembly". I've purchased a couple sets from NGOSew for some Brother LS2-B837 and have been very happy. Goodluck!

Any solution for a stuck stitch regulator? Mine is stuck on 5 since I got it. When I push the plunger down, I can't turn the wheel either way to change the length
@xmeantonex5 жыл бұрын
Are you sure you're pushing on the "left" side button? Pushing on the button on the "right" side will lock the shaft and is used for resetting the safety clutch. To adjust stitch length push down the left button while turning the handwheel until the button clicks into a groove. Then turn the handwheel toward you to increase stitch length or turn it away from you to reduce stitch length. Hope this helps.

@thesergeant35249 жыл бұрын
I don't unfortunately, although I'm looking for a cylinder arm machine like a Pfaff 335, Alder 269, etc. right now. The closest thing I have is a Singer 29K171 but that is a patcher and no where near as robust as a harness machine.
@HomeBoysssa9 жыл бұрын
thesergeant why dont all machines come with cylinder arm? a flat table could always be easily made for any cylinder arm machine, however if you ever needed to sew a cuff or hem it is less efficient with a flat base machine. so again, why dont all sewing machines made cylinder?

For this machine, what motor did you have, a clutch motor or servo? I have the 111W155 ant it sees way to fast. How do you slow it down? Thanks
@thesergeant35246 жыл бұрын
This was a clutch with a 50mm I believe. I actually prefer larger pulleys like 90mm on clutch motors. In my expierence it makes the low speed control a little more manageable and increases to your top speed as well. If you want a servo I'd suggest an Enduro SM645 from Keysew.com

I’ve just finished a chair with a heavily backcoated fabric. Tried sewing on my old 96-87, but the fabric sticks. Used the 111w-153 and it takes 4 layers with no problems. Can this sew light weight fabric too?
@thesergeant35249 жыл бұрын
Most definitely. I forgot to mention it in the video but needle feed machines are actually really great for lightweight material because you can back off the presser foot tension much more than a standard bottom feed machine and the 'needle feed' action will still transport the fabric effectively. Just make sure to check the hole size for the feed dog. You dont' want it so oversized that the fabric isn't well supported. You can buy replacement feed dogs on ebay that will accommodate a smaller needle size
