I was amazed at the voice. Even before he started singing he was such a likeable guy. I got chills and was crying too. When he got the golden buzzer I yelled "YES!!" He definitely deserves it.

​@BradSteele Thank you for your honest reaction bc I enjoyed your commentary. I've been a Journey fan since approximately 1970. My affection grew once Steve Perry in late 1977, or beginning in 1978 joined. "Light' holds special personal meaning for me. IMO, Steve's vocals were unique, powerful, and unmatched by other singers. I'll always miss Perry bc he's a valued classic. Richard Goodall is awesome in his own right!! We're just lucky that we get to hear them both. I say this bc ... Richard I believe was never trying to impersonate Perry's voice. It belongs to Richard bc he's too humble to try to copy someone else. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so. I cried too! Richard Goodall certainly is the epitome of “don’t judge a book by its cover” , just like Susan Boyle! What I love about Richard, aside from his incredible talent as a singer, is that he has retained, at the age of 55, a purity of spirit that you really only see in very young children. He’s not naïve, he is as simple and direct and pure as a human being can get. This truly touching performance added great joy to this planet. Thank you, Richard! I've watched his performance on AGT YT like 20 times along with almost 2 mil. other views already! Ppl love Mr. Richard💕 Five words into the song and ppl were screaming, 5 more in and they were out of their seats on their feet jamming. One of the happiest and most deserved golden buzzers ever. FYI, Richard was on a tictok video in 2022 singing this song. Steve Perry saw it and was blown away. He contacted Richard to join them on stage when they performed in a town near him. Covid so small audience in 22. But he went on stage and performed with Steve Perry. The only way you could tell which were singing at that moment was by who had the mic up to their mouth. So the tictok video the kids at his school posted and this being on stage with Perry is his only experience before AGT.
