TheDoo has some pretty cool original material of his own. His most popular and requested original is probably Ascend but to be fair his music is borderline unique especially considering when it was made.

I hope you get some Watsky in your playlist soon. That would be super fun! Started with Pale kid raps fast and got better and better and just never stopped 🙊 Love the vids!

There's a video he has where he's playing 2 guitars at once if you ever react to TheDoo again I'd def recommend that one

1st clip, been waiting from someone in the industry to see how good this guy is! I think you know how good he is now... top 5 best guitarist in the WORLD
@theorc909819 сағат бұрын
Skill wise, he is very good, but as for the "best" or "top five"... No. Guthrie Govan, John Petrucci, Tosin Abassi, Mateo Mancuso, Frank Gambale, Tim Henson, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, John Gomm, and about 500 other fusion, rock, metal and jazz players are leagues ahead. Don't get me wrong, he has some great skills... But maybe you just haven't heard a lot of players. And I haven't included any of the now dead players who would also leave him trailing.
@z0s1a9815 сағат бұрын
@@theorc9098 Cheers sir, I wasn't aware of them, will definitely check them out! What so impressive to me is his ability to just listen to a song for 40 sec's & pretty much imitate it... it had my jaw on the floor! I think bucket head is another one at the top of the list!
@theorc909814 сағат бұрын
@@z0s1a98 He has really good "relative pitch". Which means that if he can find the "root" note, he can quickly work out the melody. His music theory is solid too, which means that he recognises the key of the song. Once you know the key, and know the scale patterns, improvisation becomes surprisingly easy. Think of it like learning to ride a bicycle or to drive a car... At first, you'll put your hands in all the wrong places, every gear change involves concentration, but in a very short time, it becomes an automatic response. I play in a similar way to him, (although my theory sucks!) except for his two neck, ambidextrous thing... That is a hell of a skill that he has, to coordinate two different melodies on what is technically two separate guitars, but again, there are hundreds of players who do that. He's certainly in the top 1% of people who play the guitar, but there are millions of guitar players who can't do more than strum a few chords. For me, he's a really, really, really good player. He's a great entertainer. He has a strong voice and as a musician overall (with all the other instruments he plays) he's definitely special. I just think he needs a few more years to become one of the greats.
@z0s1a9813 сағат бұрын
@@theorc9098 your analogue of the bike really hits home, its the initial learning curve thats so hard! & if you keep at it, then it becomes special! I've heard him talk about the note pitch before, which was so interesting but almost common sense if you think about it, but then so allusive (the more you know). I've always thought to myself which one would I choose, violin, piano or guitar, its almost to hard to choose, but after seeing the dexterity he has and the raw ability to brink any music to such a leave, i have to put guitar ahead by a hair's width, its just incredible & if you can play like that dude, thats a serious gift, you can literally be the life of the party. A nice way to describe it is Dimash Qudaibergen when it comes to talent or creativity & your so spot on, his ability to be charming and whitty (stewie) as well, is just adorable & the icing on the cake! He's definitely in 1%, its no surprise why people just say "I'm going to learn the guitar!", I've been saying it for years now, I should really follow through with it now lol. Happy Xmas & New Year by the way, hope you have a lovely year!

Man, i have been a long time fan of TheDoo and an even longer fan of you and dragon force. If you check out any more of this guys videos, please check out his highlights from the first stream he did with Herman Li. Those two mfs are 1. Unbelievably good the way they can bounce back and forth from eachother, and 2. Funny as hell. It is like a guitar version of you and tech, truely crazy chemistry that is so fun to watch 🤙

His video "BEST OF THE DOOO 2019!" includes him joking around with his gaming buddies as well as his music clips. Just the first joke about being sponsored by fire cracks me up. His humour is not for everyone though, fair warning!
@Mabus_Incarnate23 сағат бұрын
In modern times, he's regarded as one of the greatest guitar players in the world, and he's still somehow maintained keeping his identity secret. He's played with Herman Li of Dragonforce on stream and Herman had very high praise for his skill and talent, among others in the industry. He's one of the best of this generation and we probably will never know his name.
@erikwilliam125422 сағат бұрын
Pretty sure his name is Eric. I recall Herman Li asking if he preferred being called Eric or The Doo.

9:30 - I think he actually said that people ask why it takes so long for him to make* his videos. That short video is to show why that is. It's because it's difficult for him to get good encounters with people.

TheDoo is so funny because he's a guitarist second really, he does gaming/funny moments as his main channel, the Omegle stuff was just occasional after awhile, he's in a group called the Goons, hes also in a podcast with the same name, they sadly just lost a member of the podcast like today but it's still great
