I always have loopy loose thread on the back I have checked and re checked to see if it’s threaded correctly. I can’t really see if it’s in the tensioner because it is hidden on my singer heavy duty. How would I know if it’s in or not?

If somebody can please help me out that would be awesome. I just bought this exact model and spent time on the phone with singer and also watched a bunch of videos on getting the thread in the tension discs. No success so far. How do I know, aside from the thread pulling taught, if the thread is in the tension discs before I pull it taught? What else can I look for? This is extremely frustrating.

Hope you fix your problem, but if not I recommend looking at the first half of this video. It goes in-depth on how to set up your sewing machine. I was having the same issues until I saw this video. Unfortunately, there are parts of the machine that are not explained on the setup guide that is responsible for tension when sewing. And if you don't put the thread through these areas correctly you will not send the proper tension on the machine. As I said, this video goes into those parts in detail. Mine is bird nesting. I had it adjusted, i am using a universal needle at this moment. Verigated thread to match the fabric. I have checked the tension i tried from 2 to 5, the bobbin, the width of stitch, the length of stitch, and the style. of stitch. What would you suggest?

I had the machine adjusted, it has been oiled, I used the same thread in both bobbin and top stitch. Bottom is very nested.

I have a Singer machine and have not used it for years. I tried many times to use it now, and the piece of cloth never moved forward and thus all the thread got all mess up around the bobbin - any suggestion to get pass this ? ( I took the machine to a shop, they saw the pressure plate came down slowly and said that is should not do that, thus requiring a tune up) Thanks Al

What setting for length width and tension do you suggest for a Singer 4411 sewing vinyl and faux leather. I am using a nylon thread and it is pulling the thread as well as bunching up

teflon presser foot, leather # 16 needle and nylon thread. also lower tension and longer stitch length.

I have the exact same issue with nylon thread. I just ordered 16 and 18 needles to see if this and a longer stitch will cure it.

Anoushka Get the correct needle! Use correct thread! Google brand name of your machine, sew Lycra, needle and thread. Do research for easy answers.

hello. So I'm new into the sewing world. I bought a singer 44s heavy duty. I was practicing with stretch stitches and put my width up to 6... Only thing is now I cant put the width adjustment down lower then 4... it seems to be stuck. Has anyone experienced anything like this???? Please help. I don't want to force it and break this machine

update... so i tilted the machine off level and heard something click...and was able to move the width back to 0.... I need to make sure this is not broken and may need to get a new machine.

You can! You can machine piece quilt blocks together with the standard presser foot, and you can invest in an after market free-motion-quilting or walking foot to quilt the top pieces. All you need to quilt is a machine that can straight stitch!

Why not just spool the bottom bobbin spool the same as the top thread all the time simple. Then you got same threads top & bottom no need at all touch the tension at all then . Common sense love
