I think Zayn did full justice to the song.. He sounds fantastic and soothing to ear and also it is his accent and his way of singing, which u were pointing out , and it is beautiful in a way.. So u should listen to zayn more to see his articulation of Song. :)

i think that lazy articulations is Zayn’s style of singing..I’ve heard a quite a lot of his singing and that’s what he usually does especially in slow tempo songs

Block every abusive commenter. I'm a fan of Zayn's interpretation, note changes, runs and background vocals (not his word warbling at the beginning tho) and fully disliked Zhavia's take that dropped off at the end of words, was purposely out of sync with the beat and even out of sync with him at the end even tho she recorded after him. She sang almost completely straight (I call it stylized blandness) except for that one great ad lib almost to the end (I much preferred Becky G's version.) So I completely disagree with your review but it's your opinion and you're entitled to it on YOUR channel. Block the bullies.

I'm pretty sure you're hearing zayn for the first time... Cuz I sounds so funny how you react on zayn's part in the song... I don't feel like you know much about zayn, cuz he's so amazing his style of singing is very different and you didn't understand it. Zayn is one of the strong vocalist in this era... His high notes are so amazing, and his voice is so beautiful. IT was very funny and surprising for me to see you reacting on zayn's part, cuz you react like zayn shouldn't be singing in this song. It's weird you say Zayn doesn't pronouce or articulate his words well (and that you said Zhavia did) when in fact I understand his lyrics very clearly whereas it's actually Zhavia that I can't understand her words at times. LOL And many said the same thing including all vocal coaches and professional singers that reacts to this songs. I find it so ironic and weird that you hear it the opposite. 😆 It's just amusing to me though. No hate. Since this is the first video i watch that said that. Why do some white people want soulful singers like Zayn to sound like a 12 year old boy that hasn't hit puberty yet just because that is how other men that sing for Disney sound. The way he's singing isn't "lazy", it is his own R&B style. He's not aiming to be like one of the many cookie cutter annoying voices on the radio that is forced on us by companies that pay for spins. I definitely agree that this song was for zayn. Now zhavia on the other hand, this song was not for her. Her voice is beautiful without a doubt, but I didnt find it flowing with the song and it definitely didnt blend properly with zayn.
