OMG I’ve been listening to Eskobar for about 15 years, since a trip to France where your song You Got Me (featuring Emma Daumas) played on the radio. I bought your CD in France then, before coming back to the States lol... The most recent song I love from you is “When Your Heroes Fall” (I also follow you on Spotify, along with Dimash and other artists that I love). Anyways, thanks for your honest reaction to Dimash. It’s true that being moved by a song, or a voice, comes down to personal taste, and is ultimately quite subjective, regardless of how emotional the artist is when interpreting a song. Thus, although Dimash’s interpretations are emotional, one may still not be moved by his performance: that’s two different things altogether. To me, his vocal and technical abilities are just the cherry on top of the cake. For instance, Dimash doesn’t belt for the sake of it or for showing off; but rather to express his strong emotion, and convey a specific meaning. Now, whether we like his artistic choice or not is again a matter of personal taste. Besides, we cannot love every single song, music, piece of art, etc... from our favorite artists, no matter how talented they are, whatever their fields. Because I’m highly receptive to Dimash music and voice frequency, they have an emotional effect on me; which doesn’t seem to be the case with you on that particular song and performance. But you know what, that’s totally fine! I discovered Dimash about 2 years ago and became a fan of his. Although some Dears can definitely be overprotective towards Dimash, we are also respectful of someone else’s opinions. We can all agree to disagree in a civil, polite, and respectful way. Unfortunately, haters or crazy people can be found anywhere: simply ignore them. I must say that the Dears are overall an amazing fandom. Last but not least, I would have never thought that one day I would see the lead singer of Eskobar react to Dimash: you made my day, even if you didn’t like the song lol...

You're right about the personal taste and its important that people respect that. The majority of the Dears are very nice people and we all want to support our idol. Unfortunately, like in all fandoms, a few will take things a little bit to personal, so to say. The Dears love Dimash's humble heart and we should take that humbleness also part of us as it's a better way to support him.

I wonder to what degree some reactors try not to be impressed too much when told Dimash is the best vocalist by the Dears? Not specially saying you did (!), but some are kind of offended and have the attitude like “We will see...” Anyway, I do appreciate honest en sincere reactions and for sure we cannot all like the same cup of tea. Your reaction, preferring to listen to a song whiteout the lyrics made me think about that. Because from on side I understand (music goes further than knowing what someone is singing about) but it does give a song so much more meaning. For example the song at his Bastau concert “Daybreak” you “see” and “hear” him sing his heart out. But when knowing the lyrics it makes me cry as a parent. So, apparently it does matter. I heard when Dimash heard this song for the first time as a child, he was trembling over his whole body. Which support your point of view language knowledge isn’t necessary because the song is in Chinese 😆😅 I really hope you will be able to read beyond soms critics from Dears and mostly for yourself keep enjoying his music. He has so much more to offer. And it would be nice for us to join your journey and hear and see your reaction, positive or negative 😉 Kind Greetings from this Dear 🤗

I totally understand your reaction to this song. It has always been my personal reaction to it as well. I am always more inclined to recommend to new reactors performances such as "Your Love," "Olimpico," "Love Is Like a Dream," "Love of Tired Swans," "Adagio," and "Across Endless Dimensions." I have never suggested this one to someone who is new to Dimash. Dimash has said it is important to him that his music be known in the western world. That should be important to those of us who love Dimash as well. That's why I am reminding your viewers about the passionate fans ( known by him as Dears) from all over the world who have succeeded in propelling him to #1 in requests on MTV over the past four weeks in a row and the fact that they can use more help to keep him at #1. New fans who want to help keep Dimash at the top where he belongs should calculate their time zone difference and then tune into the MTV youtube channel Friday Livestream every Friday from 5-8 pm New York time and type REQUEST DIMASH as many times as possible in the chat during the three hours that the program is airing. It is the least we can do for him in return for all he has given to us.

I offer a little information about the song "Sinful Passion". This song is old. She's over 20 years old. Music by Baigali Serkebayev, and the words to this song were written by the famous contemporary Russian poet Ilya Resnick, author of many Russian music hits The first performer of this song was a singer from Kazakhstan Batyrkhan Shukenov (he died in 2015). Dimash sang this song for the first time in Russia in Sochi at the New Wave Festival on September 9, 2018. He didn't imitate the first performer. Dimash used all his phenomenal abilities and made a completely different interpretation of this song. I can't remember a single song where the singer changed 5 voices (from baritone to soprano) and 4 octaves in one song. And Dimash did it easily. At the end of the song, Dimash sang vocals for 22 seconds in one breath. Dimash tells a great story and draws us into it. Many viewers cry, others have chills. And all together they sit like under hypnosis.

We might also mention that the keyboardist in this performance is the composer of this song and I believe at least some of the band members from its original performance are part of this band. Additionally, that the man in the front row, in the white shirt, giving a standing ovation, is Igor Krutoy, a Russian composer and impressario, who came out of recent retirement to write for Dimash. Danny of Eskobar might find Olympico by Krutoy interesting. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpyzhGmqbZmknZY

Hello, I’m from Brazil! For those who like information about Dimas' songs: The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). The dead singer (to whom Dimash was a fan) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

I think there is a difference in obsessive and protective. Most often you might see overly protective fans. It's like judging someones son. Dimash has a relationship with his fans whereas he feels like they are an extension of his family. Its hard to explain but it's not like fans have adopted him, it's more like he has adopted the fans therefore they are very protective him. I don't think fans are trying to be disrespectful to any criticism just protective and very proud of his accomplishments. Just my take on it.

'That dude' wrote the song about 20 years ago! Dimash is singing with the original band as part of a professional pre-concert before the competition of young singers. This is an epically great match up. So he did not waste the opportunity, but added the lament in the middle to honor their fallen original lead singer. The band, A-Studio is from his region so he used a traditional Kazakh style lament with the goat-trill (glottal vibrato). You're right about people having different things that give them goosebumps. Another reviewer, specifically a jazz musician, was just wild about this performance. It was largely about the song itself and the carefully refined balance of vocals and instrumentation. But a carefully tuned classic Russian pop/jazz song was just the thing for him. I'm not wild about some of the songs Dimash sings, largely because I don't like all kinds of music. Some people go crazy when he does a K-Pop style song or maybe a song originally by one of their favorite bands. He could sing the best rap/hiphop in the world and it would still leave me cold. He sings a lot of styles, so pick what you like. I like his old Russian classic songs (e.g. Love Is Like A Dream). They are very warm and rich and I do like his midrange tenor MF a lot. Some people really connect with his Chinese folk song work (e.g. Autumn Strong or Late Autumn in Mandarin!). So for some styles : SciFi movie music video : Across Endless Dimensions (English) Sassy Russian cabaret showpiece : Opera 2 Mostly opera with modernized instrumentation : Olimpico (aka Ogni Pietra) in Italian Modern dramatic ballad : My Heart Will Go On (Celine Dion cover) Sort of Kpop style : Screaming (2 major versions : studio vs live w/ rap) Blue Alien impossible : Diva Dance Dramatic Italian semi-operatic : Confessa (one version is paired with dancer and Diva Dance, very good) He also does a bunch of more Kazakh style music that I haven't connected with yet. We'll see. I need to put in the time for a focused session and see if feel it. I think he needs to latch onto a metal band project, maybe orchestral metal like Evanescence. It could be amazing. There may be some crazies that go after you for not loving everything Dimash does. We need to have a thick skin in life, especially when people are telling you what to like.

Swedish neighbour, you have 100 dislikes to around 1000 likes which means 1 in 10 dislike this reaction which is a lot. The reason is not necessarily because you preferred the first song of Dimash better, rather I think because you did not give much comment/praise to the objective view of this incredible performance apart from saying it was technically very good. Had you added some more, pointing out the various impressive parts of this song which perhaps only a handful people in the world would be able to sing this way, more of those you call 'obsessive fans' (who are rather heartfelt fans who want Dimash to get respect even when some of his songs are not for everyone) would have reacted with better understanding. Not everyone can have the same taste - it goes for Dimash's songs as well as everyone else's - and that is to be respected, but the way we as reactors convey our opinion/views (with respect or without it, with humility or without it) will in my experience influence the response we get from our viewers/visitors. Great to see another Scandinavian face reacting to this sensational singer, best singer on the planet in my view and many many others. Have fun on your continued Dimash-journey!

A slide up to a B flat 5 and a run all the way down for 23 seconds on one breath stuns me and gives me chills everytime. But it's not just his vocal skills (which are unparalleled). This man can command a stage as a solo act. At his concerts, which often run for 2 1/2 hours, he connects with his audience and has made them cry just by the way he feels and sings the music, even if they don't understand the language he's singing in. In short, he has what many of today's entertainers lack - an extraordinary stage presence. That's why his fanbase is worldwide and includes the young and the old, women and men, of every race and ethnicity. I don't know any entertainer today who has that type of appeal.

It's interesting how different us people can view the same thing. I see parts of his "emotional" performance as acting with no real emotion at all.
@setamanaha47043 жыл бұрын
@@dannytheswedishmusixian1513 That's because you know nothing about the man. About his deep love for his nation and its people and his family. About how he's donated money from his concerts to worthy causes such as Project C.U.R.E. About how he loves and respects his mentors who have been training him since age 5 when they realized he had absolute pitch. He could rest on his accomplishments now and yet he's going for his PhD in music because he always wants to learn more. He's a decent human being with a good heart full of passion for music - a heart that will hopefully remain untainted by the darker side of the music business. He's never exuberant in interviews. He saves all of his emotions for his songs and the stage. It's too bad that you can't see it.

Getting goosebumps or being touched emotionally is a very individual thing. I think it depends on how open somebody is for new types of music and if you can relate to the song. In SOS we can relate to the type of music, because it`s european (french in particular). Sinful passion is a typical russian pop song, that Dimash changed and made his own version. PErhaps it`s not your style. There are a lot of other styles, because Dimash is very versatile. For me it was Daybreak that touched my heart, although it`s mandarin. The beauty of Dimash`s voice is uncomparable.

don't worry, there is a reason Dimash isn't very mainstream yet outside a certain fan culture where he also got his first fame with covers. its not just you not connecting with alot of his stuff because he played 2 sides, the poppy shrill stuff to impress and the more serious TV/event production (not talent shows) with classical elements. YT of course does its thing by playing the "let me impress you" card so he gets suggested alot and a part of his fame came from that beginning 2017. i like him as an artist because of his technical abilities of course (the work he must have put in in his youth...) and because he pulls me outside the "western mainstream", which is good. but truthfully not many of his songs are on any of my playlists. he often sounds shrill and thats not something i like to listen to for a very long time no matter how technically impressive it is. the "go to's" are "Ogni Pietra" to get a good impression of his classic-style (= important event track), and maybe go for "love is like a dream" for a soft balad with a beautiful quiet transition, "ti amo cosi" where he sings in a triplette with his idols to judge his coop-ability and maybe add "across endless dimensions" to hear an overproduced movie-track of him to get the complete picture of how he would sound in studio (i don't like it very much, but thats me). i would also say stay away from the Opera2/Daybreak/talent show stuff which is really playing the shrill & impress me card. thats not where you will get chillls from good music. but for clicks it works, business is business ;)
