Check out his cover of The Beatle’s song “Help”Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He has done a lot of amazing performances. He can still hit those notes at aged 70 as he did at a concert to raise money for bushfire victims with Queen just before covid 19 arrived in 2020.

John Farnham a British born Australian mainly stuck to concerts in his home country and quite a few over here in New Zealand. He never really was what you would call a mega star, but throughout Aussie & NZ he is an icon. With such a powerful voice it was the live performances he loved, interacting with his fans, John would strive to make sure the crowd walked away from a stunning concert. He even had a bit of joke here & there. For me he has the most powerful, unique voice I've ever heard. Another thing about him every time he said about retiring, nope he just could not do it. Farnham is in his early 70's and it was only a few years back he did a small concert in Auckland NZ, he never missed a note just as awesome as the time before. I really hope you check out some of his other songs, 'Thats Freedom' 'Reasons' 'Two Strong Hearts' 'When The War Is Over' and the ever popular 'Pressure Down' of course they're my favourites but every time he sings live it's with his fans in mind, also it's more powerful. I hope this gives you more insight to the great icon, at least most of what I know.

Not a greater effort Live. John has always thrived in the Live performances. Huge energy feedback loop between him & the audience - always. Very few performers then or now engage so brilliantly - so warmly. His phenomenal vocal talent aside; John has that incredible & rare ability to make each & every member of the audience feel genuinely appreciated & part of the show - just be being his own natural open self. Something that we Aussies love; a genuine down to earth total Superstar! We Aussies have a very finely tuned 'Bullshit Radar' you know -& very quickly get our hackles up when someone comes across with 'airs & graces' beyond their talent ! Fortunately we have a lot of Talent here!!! Happy to share & even happier to see Reactors appreciating & sharing too.😆👋

Nice review. John Farnham could wear anything and people would turn up. Because he is John Farnham. The Voice of Australia . This was probably one of the more laid back performances of this sog. to get the best experience you should check out some of the performaces from the concert he did with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra....production overload .

John doesn’t remind anyone of Steve Irwin. To see John live is to see 3 hours of that, he leaves it all on that stage and that is the first time I have seen him dressed so casually. You didn’t see his sense of humour or his kindness and he is the kind of guy you could talk to in Walmart but here it is called Big W. A lot of Australians are like that and we even give them space when we do see them. You haven’t seen John sing other genres like Opera with Anthony Warlow. His voice range is big and he can go much higher. He has had number one albums in 5 consecutive decades, he is 72 now and Covid will end his career. Celine Dion asked him to sing that song with her because she is a fan. John has one of the greatest voices ever, anywhere and he doesn’t remind you of anyone else. Not if you listen. We know American greats, why don’t you know ours? I loved Freddy Mercury and he was special but don’t compare them again. You don’t have the credentials to do that.do what the person below suggested. Listen to him sing Help live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. If nothing else you will see how sweet he is and he has always been an everyday Australian. His version of help makes the Beatles look sad.

The man is a living legend in Australian music. He’s over 70 and still performing on occasion. When Home Free came down under they sang part of the chorus of this song and everyone in the audience sang the refrain (the whoa’s). It would be amazing if they did an Australian album and included some of the best songs from Australian country music.

I know I'm a little late to the party but just for interest sake we used to have a national thing here in the late sixties through towards the end of the seventies called the "King and Queen of Pop" and John was King of Pop from about 68 to 75 if I remember correctly and his first number 1 in Australia was "Sadie the Cleaning Lady in 68 (pronounced 'Say - Dee" and rhymes with Lady). He used to be called the " King of Sing" until he released "Your the Voice" when he became known around the world as "The Voice".

Also see him in one of his first performances in 1967 when he was around 18. He and Olivia Newton John (of Grease fame) grew up in Melbourne and came from England originally. Both were born about the same time. I think ONJ was born in 1948, and he was 1949. They started their singing career in Melbourne. This was on Melbourne TV show. Name of song: Sadie the Cleaning Lady. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGHGZmiijbd0m8k

You’re right RE Freddy Mercury, he apparently considered Farnham to be the greatest singer of all and Brian May hit him up to front Queen after Freddy’s passing. They did work together on a version of “we will rock you” in the early 2000’s and Queen performed with John at a benefit concert back when Australia had massive bushfires in 2019-2020

Lol you keep comparing him to other artists but the fact is you should be comparing them to him. When all those other artists go to a concert the singer they go to is John Farnham, the man they want to duet with is Farnsey. Not the other way around. The usa missed out on a lot of incredible aussie artists because they refused to toe the line of music companies and they had the support of all of Australia. In the words of the great Jimmy Barnes of Cold Chisel ' You got nothing I want you got nothing I need!' There is a reaction worth doing Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham on Hey Hey ot's Saturday doing 'When something is wrong with my baby' Lastly like you music sounds good.

Please don't compare John Farnham as he is incomparable! He has a big vocal range which I have read is from A2 to G5. We asked you to watch him LIVE because he is an ultimate professional with an incredible, charismatic, live stage presence. He has the audience with him all the way. John is rock royalty in Australia, yet he is very "down-to-earth", funny, likeable and much loved. He always shows appreciation for his musicians, back-up singers and his audience. That shows the calibre of the man. He has sung with a number of well-known singers from around the world. He has a huge discography. Enjoy!

Yes, John Farnham had an incredibly powerful voice. His best years were from his Little River Band days ie 1982 to his best solo days 1994. The Little River Band was one of the best bands Australia produced regardless of the lead singers at the time. Both were good in their own way. John was obviously the more 'kick arse' singer. John's solo career from 1986 to 1994, in my opinion was his best era. The performances with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra were a highlight.
