There's a fan made remastered video of this performance with amazing quality, really adds a lot compared to the DVD-version. Really like how the video zooms into Tarja's face from the side, you can see what happens when she sings, which one normally doesn't get to see that well.

I absolutely love her voice. So warm and gorgeous. Please review her performance in Woodstock 2016 Supremacy (Muse cover). Fantastic performance.

I've been in love with this version since forever! The warmth and depth really is amazing. I have a feeling Floor's adaptation would make it "too crisp" for me. Love them both tho

Lovely. Brings tears to my eyes every time, thanks. I had hoped Friar Guylain would do this song, as I'd have liked to hear his thoughts on the lyrics, but it didn't get enough votes to make the cut... It's a funny thing, but I actually don't _want_ to hear anyone else sing this song other than Tarja. It's her song and hers alone - and always will be, for me. --- Another thing about setting "be my heart..." a bit lower is that it increases the impact of the soaring heights of "A wintry eve...". I've said before that Tuomas is an absolute master of melodic vocal lines. That he can make a line that descends over such a long period still sound utterly beautiful is almost magic. Descending melodies are usually a bit gloomy but, in this case, there's a tinge of sadness overlaid with an air of calm acceptance. It is quite, quite astonishing how Tuomas knows _exactly_ how to trigger the exact emotion he wants.

I agree completely, this is Tarja's song. The "ugly duckling lost in a verse ... dreaming the stars" always gets me.

I'd love to hear Tarja sing it live, but it's probably wishful thinking, at least with Nightwish...

Great review, I had actually forgotten how beautiful this song is. I am going to do a selection of Nightwish songs The Softer side of Nightwish, The Heavier side, The Poppier Side and finally The Epicness Side. Then what ever mood I am in I’ve got it covered.

Hi, Please make a review about a video called “David Phelps The Most Resonant High Notes”. There is a lot of different techniques he use along his range, you can hear the difference in the sound and the way he produce it.

Empu has a different guitar? not the purple one?
@MsCatstaff3 жыл бұрын
Emppu used Washburn guitars until the Once album; I think he's playing a CS 780 in this video. When he switched to his signature custom ESP EV-1, you still might see him playing a white one as well as a purple one. The white one is tuned to E-standard and the purple one is tuned to D-standard.
