Mariah is as good as it gets in mainstream media. She has one if not the hardest repertoire in mainstream media is not only tied to her vocal range is Bout the way she uses it, is true musicianship, her whistle may only be in the backgraound smooth and not overpowering but her agility is unbelievable,. The vocal dynamics she can color a song with reveals her differ t registers which she switches midword and then back down again, the Iairy tone but there is something very simple yet outstanding besides that she writes and produces all of her music she has a simply beautiful voice, the tone can be warm, piercing but never abrupt or shouty, is refined, elegant and definitely a trademark for her uncanny skills that her tone is as flexible and unique. "All hail and bow to Mariah Carey, The Queen of Divas, Protector of the vocal skills from the realm, Archiduchess of Vocal range/registers, Empress of agility, The unmatched, The Mellisma mother, The Goddess of Songwriting and producing, The one often imitated, but never duplicated, The embodiment of pure success",. I mean even the Legendary Stevie Wonder. Who said “When people talk about the great influential singers, they talk about Aretha, Whitney and Mariah”. Not to mention having 19 #1 hits on the Billboard hot 100 (Most by any solo artist in history) and being one of the best selling artist of all-time. She is more than just whistle notes. She creates her music. Writes her songs. She has actually written or co-written almost every song that has ever appeared on her albums. And is acknowledged by the World Music Awards, as the biggest-selling recording artist of the Millennium (1990-1999). First ever female artist to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, first ever female Pop/R&B singer to collab with an rapper with her iconic hit “Fantasy” ft the legendary ODB (RIP), Five-time Grammy Award Winner. I've got some ones you could react to here- -Underneath the Stars (Live at Tokyo Dome) -Can't Let Go (Live, at the Soul Train- this one doesn't sound real, but it is) -If Its Over, Live at the Grammys (this has to one of the best ones yet!) -Without You (There's many, I love 'em all) -Looking In is a studio track, and has been sung live only once, later on in Mariah's career, but the studio one is beautiful, which is why its on this list. -Butterfly Live At Letterman's -You and I (Tribute to Stevie Wonder, and her low notes are incredible) -Dreamlover (Live at MSG or any of her other ones, which I think are beautiful) I am a huge Mariah Carey fan, and these are my favorites.
