And There, Forever Remains That Change From G to E Minor….. R.I.P. Ann Waychoff
@josemurtra31723 жыл бұрын
Can you explain some more about that, im curious. Ty
@annemarieevans19913 жыл бұрын
@@josemurtra3172 in interviews Tuomas has been asked what he means by this and he only smiled. So whatever it means to him he will not say. 😏 G and E minor are the same notes musically, just written differently. So personally I take it to mean how you interpret things depends on your perspective, 2 sides of the same coin so to speak. Also in the movie Imaginerium the daughters name is Gem (GEm), not a coincidence. Hope that helps.

R.I.P Ann Waychoff mother of the Nightwish Army. June 28th, 2020 . Ann was a big Nightwish Fan. And every new person who listened to NW, she went through a little chat. And gave them some info about NW. This was her favorite song. And this song belongs to her. I like very much that Gabriel have continue Ann s work.... so her heritage is still here.

This song has a little bit of everything that Nightwish does! Amazing musicians. You mentioned that you watch the fans during the songs. This concert was Wacken 2013 with a variety of bands playing - Nightwish was a headline act - there was 84,000 people there - not all of them were Nightwish fans when they arrived but, they were when they left that night!. 🤘 👏

Floor hit a D3 on that low note which is near the bottom of the tenor range. She can get an octave below that with her growls. In "My Walden" at Wembley, she hits another low note, sounding like a baritone, then she smirks at the crowd for having done it.

You should check out NW's latest album Human Nature. Tuomas gave Floor a real challenge this time....e.g. "Music" , "Noice" and the one I love most "Shoemaker" (about Eugene Shoemaker, an Americnan geologist and astronomist and the only human being whose (part) ashes are buried on the moon). The last part of that song was made by Floor.

Nightwish's Song of Myself is inspired by (and has some quotes from) the poem with the same name by Walt Whitman.
@zvolencan13 жыл бұрын
Tuomas always composes with one goal in mind: to create the best song possible - and that means all the parts of the band have to adapt to this, and they play exactly what that particular song needs. The most shining example is Emppu, who is a world class guitarist, but he is not shredding all the time. There are songs where he shreds, but most of the time he adds to the songs just what is needed.

Marko resigned not only from Nightwish, but from his entire public life. When he says he might be back, I think he means back in public life, doing something new, as he said in his statement he has “some reinventing to do.” The few interviews I’ve seen/read with Tuomas where talks about Marko leaving, I don’t get the impression that there is an expectation he’s coming back to Nightwish. One thing people need to keep in mind…Marko has been a professional, touring musician for over 30 years. He may just want to retire, or do something different…can’t really fault him for that, if that turns out to be the case.
@markschattefor69973 жыл бұрын
I think you didn'nt understood the complete message that Marko told to explain WHY he was fed up with the whole BUSINESS part of touring and promoters, who wanted percentages of NW OWN merchandise. There has been a person called Peter Grant who took care of this kind of bullshit personally.
@mitchthepower3 жыл бұрын
@@markschattefor6997 I don't have any insight on these things of course, but on the one hand I can understand his criticism, on the other hand I don't quite get why you would quit the band because of that. I guess he also made lots of money with his profession. (His other reasons like his depressions ofc are a VERY good reason, I just didn't understand that particular part or why this is such a big issue.)
@markschattefor69973 жыл бұрын
@@mitchthepower Only the remark that he made also a lot of money makes me think you are a murican. And murica is money money money money money, not a SINGLE grain of passion is left in the average murican. The US of A.... is the most modern THIRD WORLD country on this disc/globe.
@mitchthepower3 жыл бұрын
@@markschattefor6997 Nope, not murican. I share your thoughts about that third world country. Maybe you misunderstood me a little bit. What I meant: It shouldn't bother him that much if he doesn't get the full share from their income. (So quite the opposite.) Ofc when he said the countries that in fact have prohibited heavy metal (like Saudi Arabia) also get some money from them (for some reasons I don't remember), that is a bit unfortunate to say the least. Maybe not compatible with his moral standards. But still, as I said, is that such a big issue? Maybe...
@Zoey-K-13 жыл бұрын
@Mitch true, but there was more to it than that. I think what he said when he won the Finnish version of The Masked Singer (which was very shortly before his resignation) is quite telling, especially in light of his “reinvention” statement as well as his struggles with depression. When asked what the experience of being on that show was like for him he said (paraphrasing) that it was great because, not knowing who he was, the audience had no expectations about what they thought he SHOULD be doing.

I just love your reactions so much for your background research and appreciation of the lyrics and their meanings. These things are so important to Nightwish songs and too many reaction channels just ignore them sadly... Therefore you are one of my favourite reactors! :) I'm also so grateful for your kind words at the end and would like to give them all back to you equally. ♥ I agree with everyone who suggests doing The Poet and the Pendulum and Greatest Show on Earth. If you get to these: Feel free to go into research detail as much as you like and don't worry if the reactions end up being 1 hour or longer, we love watching these just as much! ;) (The longer the better if I was the one person to decide lol) But because I'm not sure if anyone's told you before (even tho I guess someone did, but just in case), and because mental well-being seems to be an important topic to you: Please know a trigger warning concerning Poet, for it deals with strong depression and su1c1de/su1c1dal thoughts in both lyrics and overall meaning! (I personally would love if people would include this information in recommendations for this song in general tbh. I know quite some people with mental illnesses, including myself, who love this song so much but can't listen to it any time because sometimes it triggers too much. So just fyi. Please be aware of this, if stuff like that affects you in ANY way.) Also I'd LOVE to see you react to the entire latest album including the 30 minutes orchestral piece from disc two. It's recommended to be done in the original order and man, you'll have lots of fun with research and lyrics interpretation in all cases from this masterpiece of an album! :D (I personally wouldn't mind a full Endless Forms Most Beautiful reaction either but that might be asking for too much lol) Anyway, keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to more!!! ♥ Warmest greetings from Germany!

I really hope Marko comes back, for me Nightwish lost just a little bit of magic when he left. But when you look at the facts, there's nothing to indicate his return. He said we'll probably hear from again, once the year is over. But he never said it would be with Nightwish. The fact that they hired a session bassist, remember that almost a year ago they were (re)planning the world tour, putting together the virtual show, and rehearsing the new album. They just didn't have the time to find the perfect permanent bassist.
@vivk15933 жыл бұрын
They still got an amazing bassist for season 🤘😁🤘 I really wish that Marko comes back, but I also understand, that it is not so realistic thing to wish for 🥺 Anyway, I was so happy when they revealed that Jukkis will be "The One". Your videos are instructional and insightful. I enjoy the preparation you put into each one, as well as the importance you place on the lyrics. Tuomas is brilliant as a composer and lyricist. It is sad that many reactors don't pay attention to half of that talent. Also, I think it is admirable that you have learned, and remember, the band members names and their correct pronunciation after so few videos. Many, many reactors have many more songs under their belt and still don't remember the names and/or say them correctly. I think the only thing left is for you to learn how "Wacken" is pronounced. The festival is held in Germany and is pronounced "Vawcken".
