This is the first Gigi video I watched and I was hooked instantly. She's also an actress, which is probably why she can easily slip into character for any song. Yes, Daring is the word. This song is a classic & they dared to re-arranged it. And it worked, gaving it a contemporary new flavor! Thats what I like about Gigi. There are many amazing Filipino singers, some even better than her technically speaking, but what sets her & the band apart is that they take risks. She has a lot of haters, believe it or not (from the fandoms of other Filipino singers), but she just keeps on going. She triggers some people bc she doesn't fit the mold & breaks the rules. That's how u grow as an artist, u have to think outside the box. More pls, Better Days, Adele, Through the Fire, Officially Missing You. These are the songs they did from the earlier livestreams 2 yrs ago from a garage. U can later move onwards to the newer videos, after they moved to a real studio. That way u will see how they have evolved.

This is actually an amazing cover first time I heard it. It's the first funky rendition I've heard of the song. I've heard some jazz versions but most of them tend to overdo the runs and next thing you know the melody is lost. However, this cover pays homage to the song by elevating it to new and creative heights and yet preserves the Sinatra spirit. It's always fun to watch Gigi perform because she seems to be always in the groove. You are also right when you say she now owns the song and therefore can do whatever she likes. However, she does it in a way that is not overdone and leaves you in a suspended cliffhanger state. I think this feeling of "wanting more" is what keeps a lot of her fans anticipating her next cover. Anyway, thanks for the reaction. Glad to see Gigi and the Vibes' performance makes you happy as it does us. 🙂
