Not gonna lie, my favorite hobby is watching people freak out when Tim or Avi or Geoff hit those super low notes. Ring of Fire reactions are the best because no one sees that note coming. It's endless entertainment.

Elise haverstick, another favorite is VoicePlay‘s “Oogie Boogie’s Song,” where Geoff hits five different octaves in about ten seconds towards the end. If you turn on captions in their video (not the reactions), it says “(Lower),” “(Even lower),” and “(Subterranean).”

DC Mc Yeah...Tim is a natural bass with a five octave range. He’s worked on stamina and breath control to be able to hold those notes which is rare. Avi is an amazingly well-trained classical musician who, through dedication and practice, opened up his lower ranges and even combined some head and chest reverberations that no one else can do simultaneously In those lower registers. I’ve heard Florence do it up high but no one down low like Avi. Aren’t we lucky we can listen to them both. Plus they sounded great together.

On the sing off, the judges were blown away with Tim and how easy he makes it look to sing the bass parts. My favorite Tim factor is "Tim's Vibrations" he makes the camera shake. I saw Home Free in concert and Tim made my whole body vibrate in the chair and I was sitting at least 50 feet away.

Avi and Tim together. How great is that!
@Cindyannef7 жыл бұрын
First let me say that I love you guys. Your reactions say it all. They are both excellent and natural bass's, but Avi is trained more in the opera genre. Tim...well let's face it... he's just a freak of nature. And the thing is that's not his lowest note, either. He has a 5 octave range, and he can slide from notes so deep they are almost unaudiable, ans with a snap can slide up that scale into the high tenor area, without any effort at all. He voice never cracks, and the volumne never lessens. If you go back and listen again, you will here him slide right into those higher notes, and then come back and hit that dang low note again. Avi is excellant too, but he doesn't anywhere near the range that Tim has. He's very great with those low notes, but even he can't hit the notes Tim does, and he only has a 2 octave vocal range. But I don't love Avi any less, because he's really, really good. Avi is good friends with the guys, and appears in a few of their videos, although he doesn't sing in them. When they were on the sing-off season #4, which they won by the way, the beatboxer, Adam Rupp deceided to give this song a country-raggae beat. That's what sounds so different. He's also very amazing in what he does and has won several awards for it along the way, including "Best Beatboxer Of The World" title a few years back, and he's only gotten better as the years pass. If you want to check out his nightly live solo act, go to...... kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIjWk3dtq8iqnpY

Cindy Flory, I’m pretty sure Avi’s range is more than two octaves, even if it’s nowhere near Tim’s 5½. And how can you call Tim “a freak of nature,” then talk about Adam as if the sounds he makes are normal? 😜

I was waiting for your reaction to Tim's G1. :D (Btw, he sang an F#1 when they were doing this song live on the Sing-Off, so even a half-step lower than in this version). I've listened to many basses and Tim is definitely one-of-a-kind and my favourite one. (He's actually my favourite vocalist now.) He seems to be more of a bass-baritone timbre-wise - with a lighter and smoother tone than basses like Avi or Geoff, but still with an amazing resonance and power to his low notes. And the fact that he can go lower than a lot of 'true' bass voices (for the lack of a better expression) just makes him even more unique and amazing. His singing technique, voice control and how amazing he sounds throughout his whole range is just something out of this world and I, like you, would love to learn from him. (No, I'm not a bass. :D I'm a contralto.) There was an interview where he mentioned something about bass lessons so he is either already doing it, or he's about to do it. :) In that same interview, he said he solidified his lowest notes by actually working a lot on his high notes that he wanted to maintain. I've seen someone mention something Tim said in one Q & A: that he sang tenor up until he was 17 or so, and then his voice changed into a bass voice, but he didn't want to lose his 'tenor' range, so he worked hard to maintain it and it helped him with his lower notes, too. He said his range is probably 10 % talent and 90 % hard work. Btw, his recorded range to date is A0 - A5 but I don't find it all that unlikely that we still might get to hear both lower and higher recorded notes from him in the future. Thanks for your reaction. You've become my favourite reactors. I love your comments and insight.
