Singers Who IDOLIZE Sarah Geronimo | PART 1

These two singers were hugely influenced by Sarah’s singing style in the 2000’s as you can clearly see and hear in the video. The 1st layer was her emotive nasal & youthful sound. The 2nd layer was her airy & feminine sound. The 3rd layer was her dark and thick sound combined with a compact even vibrato. She combined all these 3 layers in one vocal pattern to create a distinct Sarah Geronimo sound in the 2000’s. And to have an even more distinctive sound, she also added her trademark “hikbi” which are her crying-like yodels/vocal breaks, an emotive vocal fry, distinct emphasis on "ee" and "oo" vowels, mature sounding head voice, and her aggressive chesty growls (which is still different from the healthier nasal growls she’s now using). This sound of young Sarah Geronimo inspired a lot of younger singers including Charice and Morissette as you can see in the video. Sarah may be influenced by Celine & Beyonce, but she still had her distinct sound that is easily identifiable and recognizable. In fact, the Sarah G influences on Morissette and Charice do not even have Celine or Beyonce traces. It’s already the distinct sound of Sarah Geronimo that influenced their own respective singing styles. Contrary to what her haters say that she has “no ambag” on younger singers, this video is a clear proof that her influences on younger singers are actually REALLY STRONG. Not only would you hear Sarah G traces in the voices of these 2 singers, but they’ve also been very vocal about how Sarah has really influenced the two of them, and it’s very clear in the video what elements they got from Sarah. Only a bitter and biased hater would still deny that very evident fact.

Definitely kasi nung time ni Sarah, uso talaga mimicry. Even nga kami noong araw puro tunog Celine Dion pero now di ka sisikat pag wala kang own style of singing and I like that about Mori. She’s getting away from the shadows of other singers.

As a fan of Sarah and Mori, tigilan na kasi yong war2 na yan. Wag na din e deny na may influence naman talaga at may proof na. Sa ibang fans din ni Sarah, wag na patola din. I love them both.
