Lyrical, Expressive Brass: Fracture Sounds' Brass Band Soloists Review

What a gorgeous warm sound! This is the “golden tone” I tried to achieve when I was playing trumpet in high school. I have several expensive orchestral libraries with legato brass patches. None of them sound even close to this good in the warm tone, legato transitions, vibrato, and realism in the high ranges. The sound immediately reminded me of the film “Brassed Off“. Indeed, some of the players had been in the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, featured in the film.

Yeah, Brassed Off, came to my mind too. A lovely sound and I might have to buy this library

Look up Peter Skellern from back in 70's, that describes this beautiful library.

@@AMBIOSIS Thanks very much for the suggestion. I listened to his rendition of “You’re a Lady”. Piano backed with brass and singers, with no strings. His voice, a golden tone that matched the brass.

Such a beautiful sound! Well done. Question: can this library be used for a faster/brighter type of music , like funk, latin or pop? Or is it only focused more on the gentle side?

I don't think it's the right tool for fast paced funk music. This library is really more on the lyrical side, imho.

That has a great 60s soft sounds vibe to it. Lovely! And after grabbing all the excellent free Blueprint libraries... i almost owe 'em. Maybe try some random spiccato sparkles with them soprano cornets?

Yah... I was tired, and got lazy with the soprano cornet. But hey, the intention was to craft some little minute or so of music that uses all of those wondeful brass instruments.
