You guys need to play this in Kontakt 8. Midi note release sticking on some patches. Haven't done a batch resave in 8 yet, as it will not load in 7 if you do. This is already making a song, love it to bits.

There is a big benefit if you have ever played in a brass band. You're playing it like a piano, and not emulating what it is, which is a soft small Yorkshire brass band. I suggest you listen to some Peter Skellern from the 70's. Epic doesn't come into it with this library. Check out Terry Wogan from back then too.

Played around for an hour or two tonight. First impression is underwhelming. Legato is beautiful and they've included same note legato and rr. The vibrato will annoy some and would be nice to see a transition slider as you mentioned. Shorts seem fine and i like the idea of the performance patch. Alternatives to some extent might be BDT brass & reeds, has similar mellow aesthetic but no legato. I wouldn't sleep on 8dio century brass especially the Artisan library as you can get close to the sound (art brass still has touch of hall sound even on close mics) but have a lot more options to explore plus much wider dynamic range. Good sounding library, but it wont be for everyone. Thanks for review.

Spitfire Audio's British Drama Toolkit is a totally different baby, and is no comparison what so ever with this library. You know not of what you're talking about.

@@AMBIOSIS it has Tuba, Bass/Tenor Trombone,Tenor Horn & Flugelhorn. No it doesn't have legato but yes it does do soft brass underscore.

Go get Norrland Solo Trumpet. I've yet to try Music Sampling's one, but Norrland is the most comprehensive and fantastic sounding freebie I've ever heard. It does much more than just legato too!

Does it beat Indiginous Blue Street Brass even? This is a different library, and so is Muic Sampling's Trumpet. Their Parker English Horn and new Bassoon are also no comparison.

I just bought this and as someone who has always used (and probably always will for now) the excellent EastWest Hollywood Brass, I'm hoping this library will be ideal for some much more intimate work. So far, I love how it sounds and the legatos are just 🤌 For Joe-Blog - the 'Colour' knob is worth assigning for a little more dynamic oomph. Also, I appreciate Fracture Sounds for being one of those companies that give a reasonable price in GBP, considering the exchange rates. Spitfire for example are always the same number across the board - despite also being a UK company - and it just bugs me. I get that there's VAT to add, but it's not just in the UK and we always get the rough end of the stick. It's nice to be considered as an Englishman for once :)
