Thank you in forward. :) Especially grateful for you all who reached out to me asking if I'm gonna do one for this year. It really motivated me! ❤️
Two little sidenotes (SPOILER ALERT):
- I do understand Croatia's song really well and all they've done on the stage with the red carnations and all. Massive respect for having the balls to do it, just the song itself isn't my cup of tea. (like I can't ever imagine finding this in my Spotify playlist 😄). But it definitely was a good laugh for me and my fam the first time I saw it.
- Ahhhhh I feel like I couldn't do justice to my winner, but then again I didn't want to overdo it. I could never have the power that Blanca Paloma has and I realllllly hope she's gonna do very well this year. Massive respect towards this lady.

I have to admit that the opposite of what I felt this year with the Eurovision 2023 songs happened to me. You sing the songs so beautifully that they all seem beautiful to me. Hey you! I've been watching your Eurovision videos since when you started them. I couldn't expect in my wildest dreams that you'd put my country, Greece, that high! Love your voice and love your approach towards every song. Keep up your great job! ❤️ As for my top-10 countdown: 10. Slovenia 🇸🇮 (love the band's vibe) 9. Spain 🇪🇸 (I really appreciate it in terms of artistry) 8. Malta 🇲🇹 (I don't know what caught me here, perhaps the fact that I like the introversion this song emits. And the singer is pretty cute as well) 7. Serbia 🇷🇸 (I definitely think it's something innovative and daring) 6. France 🇨🇵 (It's contemporary but at the same time is pretty classy as if it combined elements from different decades) 5. Cyprus 🇨🇾 (I know that the song is nothing special, but I love the power of the chorus and I really hope he will have the vocal power to highlight it in the live shows) 4. Sweden 🇸🇪 (God, I can't tell how much I love Loreen and her performances. I'm into her discography for many years now and I still wonder how she hasn't achieved an international fame, her songs are so beautiful and she's a great performer too) 3. Finland 🇫🇮 (I really love the energy of this song and Kaarija's charisma is unique too) 2. Denmark 🇩🇰 (It's a guilty pleasure. I know that the song itself is average, but, I really love the orchestration of the pre chorus reminding the sound of previous decades) 1. Czechia 🇨🇿 (I don't know how this energy and message will be conveyed on stage, but this song is -studiowise- one of the best orchestrations ever participated. So yes, I teared up a little with your country's song because the lyrics are so freakin beautiful and so well thought through. @@haleesa1401 Yes, indeed, he's made a great job as for the lyrics, and, to be absolutely honest, his song is a grower for me as well. However, Ι still can't relate to it entirely. What I really hope is that he will enjoy his whole experience there, it's pretty unthinkable to perform in front of such a large audience and thinking of Blanche, and her terror back in 2017, I wouldn't want anyone else to feel like that again. It's a celebration, it's an honour, it's a lifetime experience that very few have the opportunity to live.

Hey lovely! Replying back as I drink my morning tea, your comments are so heart-warming! 🥺 And always love answering any questions you got! - I always have my personal notes from each song so with Belgium I can say what I've written down here (maybe you get more sense then why I personally rated it low ☺️): I feel like I've heard the lyrics before and story is told very much straightforward way (no artistic 'around the corner' storytelling which I personally look for, people comparing their feelings with things etc.). Also not a fan of this style of music. Very catchy though, backing vocalists reallly add a lot to this song. - I always look up translations for the songs that I don't understand, because I usually consider lyrics to be the most important part. I am usually a very lyric based listener, because I also focus on lyrics the most when I am writing my own music. ☺️ Of course there are some exceptions, where I think that lyrics are quite generic but the way someone can deliver it is just out of this world. Or sometimes there's something reallly cool they've done in the production where I'm like 'woooow that's new/unique/outstanding'. - I didn't know it plays ads halfway throughout the video aghhhh, I wonder if there's a way I can turn it off, I'm not monetised so I don't know if I am able to. Will have to look into it. And greetings to Peru! Will need to visit one day, I've always wanted to! I think there will be a difference in the actual placings, but I love your opinion in singing the songs! I am from Canada and of Latvian decent. My top 3 are Sweden (Lorena is Queen even though she is not my absolute favourite) 2. Finland (my true #1) and 3. Israel (because I want to see her dance!) and bonus 4. Austria & I hope they get #3. You have a beautiful voice, it sounds almost ethereal yet at the same time there's power there. Some of the harmonising you did was interesting, making the song sound minor. How did you chose the harmonies? This isn't a criticism, I'm genuinely interested as you changed the overall feel & mood of some of the songs & with many it felt an improvement. I mean you even made Solo sound a decent song. Lol Mind you, you can sing, we've not yet seen Blanka be able to sing it even half as well as you. I'm jealous of your talent. 🙂 As someone who studied production, you might be interested in hearing that the German singer Chris Harms is also a producer & lectured on it at in Hamburg (I believe that was where). That's how he met their current guitarist, Pi. They needed someone to help on the technical side on tour so he asked Pi, one of his students. When their guitarist left, as Pi played & was known by & fitted in with the band, he was asked to join. My top 2 this year are Germany & Australia, in that order. The rest of my top 13 is France, Belgium, Slovenia, Latvia, UK, Austria, Moldova, Croatia, Norway, Serbia & Czechia, in no particular order. Where I place them simply depends on my mood of the day. I can easily recognise the artistic brilliance of Spain's entry. Blanca is an exceptionally powerful, talented singer & performer. It's just that I struggle to like female flamenco voices, they're like nails on a blackboard to me. I really want to like the song because of her talent & my overall love of all things Spanish (I studied at a Spanish university, lived in Spain for a while & had planned to spend my life there, but I had to return home to the UK because my Dad became seriously ill the same week my Mum lost her sight. Family always comes first.) Someone has also mentioned looking at the acoustic performances. I heartily agree. And I always love to answer any questions you've got! - About harmonising: There really isn't a massive science behind it, sometimes I like spicing it up by changing the chords up a little, I also feel that minor feels a lot more 'intimate' when singing in acoustic. But often times the harmony 'pops into my head' automatically and I don't even notice that I had changed the chords till later to be completely honest with you. 😄 If you're further more interested in this you could also check out my song "Hold On Quick" on Spotify, iTunes, or whatever is available to you. (Fun fact: The handpan was actually in Dm and since the song is in Am, we transposed my song up into a "chipmunk" version while recording the handpan, and then later transposed the handpan down to match it). Might not be your style of music as I see you're more into rock and metal, but if you're interested you can check that out.
