Singing My Own Demos

Sometimes I need to sing my own demos! Here I am, doing my best attempt at singing in Arabic and in falsetto, to create a vocal demo for the legendary Arabic star Abeer Nehme. The song is my piece "I Lift My Eyes" from the soundtrack to 'Old World' by Mohawk Games. Soundtrack available here:

Wow... Listening to Christopher singing the demo, I'm thinking, "Man, this guy can sing as well as compose? And doing a rockin' job of it. Can't wait to hear the person he chose to actually perform it!" Was NOT disappointed. Abeer Nehme's vocals were beautiful and haunting. Looks like "Old World" has two songs in it (this and "Persia"). Will we be seeing a full album?

@@christophertin it was at the high school I teach in rural PA. It was about a year or two before you released the Drop that Contained the Sea. I hired a 20 piece orchestra and performed it with my HS choir. It was and still is one of my highlight moments in my 15 years of teaching!

Very nice Mr. Tin. I kind of try to practice a similar philosophy with my clients when I design their house (I am an architect). I go to THEIR existing home and spend a little time "listening" to the house and observing everything (some actually let me do this for a couple of days). This allows me to deliver them a more personal product fit for the client's lifestyle. I hope one day to see one of your performances if you come to Florida, USA. Thank you for your music.

I used to sing and practice with falsetto and it boosted my lower registers so much (I'm bass by birth). It is a muscle - given practice you can achieve a lot :) What you can also achieve is talent - but you need so much more practice and dedication and dare I say it - you are the biggest talent in game music industry by far Mr. Tin! :) Abeer Nahme is both very talented and beautiful, a joy to watch and hear! Good choice!

How do you know how to sing in foreign languages?

It’s just mimicry at this stage… I have people read the text to me until I can pronounce it roughly, and usually that’s enough to get the point across to the singers.
