sounds like the wrong person to listen to! when I was young my father told me I had an unbearable strident voice. That broke my heart but I kept singing anyway. then in my thirties he slipped up once when he heard me singing and said, "God, that's beautiful." I was startled. I said, "But you told me the whole time I was growing up that I had a terrible voice." He replied, "That's because that's not what I wanted you to do with your life." Who knows why you mother said that to you. I can pretty much guess, though, that the comment was deep seated in some psychological problem of her own that has nothing to do with you. SING! It will be the joy of your life!

@@liseliddell9918 This is horrible, to actually lie to your kid just because you want to steer her on the "right" path - that is the wrong path for sure. I had the opposite problem with my son, he has a beautiful Baritone, was actually on the school choir, but as much as i encouraged him he never sang to his full capacity and let it go after school.

Yet she is teaching me to find my voice, including also teaching me how to breathe correctly and how to warm up. Countertenor isn’t a voice type. It’s just bass baritone and tenor. Countertenor is a style of singing in opera where males sing with head-voice and falsetto.

Really dude? Just use alto and/or mezzo.
@davidalbro20094 жыл бұрын
@@marcospintor1333 So are mezzo and soprano not voice types? They use head-voice and falsetto.

As a young singer, this has been really helpful! I used to not even be able to touch the highest notes but now I’m closer to being able to sing them! Thank you so much Jeff!

I haven’t done a show in almost 4 years due to the pandemic. Theater used to be everything to me, and I always had fun. A few months ago I decided I was tired of just going to work, coming home, and repeating, I wanted something to do again that made me happy. And I decided I wanted to start warming up my voice again and audition for a show. So I found your video and have been using it ever since. Because of your warm ups, I auditioned for Cinderella, and not only got in, but am an understudy! After 4 years of not singing or doing anything kind with my voice! So thank you, and I hope you know how good you are!

Jeff! Thank you for posting your warm-ups! This one is especially great for singing classical requiems that keep the soprano section near the top or above the staff for torturous numbers of measures! This warm-up is heaven sent!

Thank you very much! If this is a bit too fast, try the fast and slow video. It's meticulous, but it will help you build up some agility and familiarity with the patterns I typically use. Here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKbdkoWparGihJY Best, Jeff

thank you so much i have been practicing more offten not necessarily everyday but more offten and i don't know if it's the fact that i'm starting to loosen up my voice or the fact that i've been drinking more water or a combination of both but i managed to do this intire warmup without any trouble today i've also been noticing that it's become easier for me to sing louder without forcing it
