hey! so for everybody asking for an explanation, basically elon musk did some really scummy stuff and lied in interviews. he ended up being a bad person (not just for lying, he is a transphone and a homophobe i believe.) and a lot of people (including penelope, clearly.) thought he and his company, space x, would be the ticket to the future. after finding out he was a liar a lot of people had to accept the fact that he wouldn't be our future and there was nobody to fall back to. he was the leader in technology and space travel.
