Single Button Toggle | One button Push On Push Off using a single IC

If anyone is wondering how to do this with a CD40175B, It doesn't have a set pin because it is not necessary for this circuit. Just make sure Vss is connected to a resistor before going straight to the common negative.

nice video!! but how does the IC detect that the switch is toggle ON and OFF??? does the IC sense by the voltage at the pull down resistor?? please explain more. thanks.

The push button switch is connected to the ic via the positive rail. When you push it, you’re sending a positive signal to the ic clock input. The cd4013 is a dual flip flop ic. Essentially, with each button push, you’re ‘clocking’ the ic causing it to change states (flip-flopping). It changes from high to low as you push the button. When the button is pressed, the CLOCK signal goes high. This then sets output Q to whatever is currently on the data pin D. The data pin D is connected directly to Qbar, which is always the opposite of Q. So when the button is pressed, the clock goes high, and Q is set to Qbar/the opposite of Q. Therefore toggling the output
